Lily Collins Has the Answer to Cool Girl Bridal Style

By Maria Ward

The perfect wedding dress is far from one size fits all. Last spring, Meghan Markle sparked a new trend for full sleeves (and larger-than-life veils) in a custom Givenchy gown that put an end to seasons of “naked” bridal dresses on the runway. Meanwhile, newlywed Emily Ratajkowski made a splash when she wore an orange Zara pantsuit for her City Hall nuptials, which opened up a colorful new side to the bridal spectrum. The latest look of aisle inspiration comes courtesy of Lily Collins, who served up her own anything goes approach to bridal fashion on the red carpet on Tuesday.

For the record, Collins is not a bride-to-be, but her choice of party attire could easily pass off for a bride’s after-party look. With a little help from celebrity stylist Rob Zangardi, Collins hit a white hot note in a Markarian minidress with a cowl neckline and a thigh high slip. For added sparkle, she slipped on embellished Roger Vivier heels and Cartier jewels. Not that she needed them: The dress straps were bedazzled with crystals that could have just as easily taken the place of a diamond (engagement) ring.
