Marchesa Bridal Fall 2020

By Shayna Seid

The inspiration for the latest bridal season at Marchesa was ikebana, the Japanese art of floral arrangements which stresses the importance of every element of the flower. That attention to detail translated into the intricate design elements of this collection. Every appliqué, bead, and pearl accent has its purposeful place. Many labels are adjusting to the modern bride’s needs and shopping tendencies, and Marchesa understands that women might not be looking for a gown with as much advanced notice as before. The focus has turned to making sure she is comfortable and able to enjoy her wedding without fussing over what she’s wearing—the gowns are lighter and actually promote movement but still keep their romantic and high quality aesthetics. We especially love the roomy long-sleeve and deep-V looks, which other designers have shied away from.
