Markarian, one of our most-loved bridal and RTW labels (yes, this is the brand that made custom looks for First Lady Dr. Jill Biden the evening before and on inauguration day), references the ornate detail and embellished opulence of late Renaissance portraiture cut in silhouettes that recall the 1950s for its latest bridal collection. Jacquards, delicate bundles of silk organza, floral appliqués, pearl-beaded laces, and dramatic sashes bring layered textures to life for a playful take on classic romance.

Founder and designer Alexandra O’Neill’s Spring 2022 offering is shown with another female-founded, New York-based label and OTM favorite, Gigi Burris Millinery. The headpieces are styled in the photos and part of a special collaboration between the two brands. “We used fabrics and embellishments from our Spring 2022 bridal gowns to effortlessly complement the beautiful accessories,” O’Neill says. “Satin wrapped headbands, hand-draped Swarovski pearl dotted silk bows and violettes, and wispy veils are all ethereal yet wearable.”

The bridal pieces in this collection appeal to women looking for aisle styles, as well as looks for other wedding-related events. A dress like the Lionette would work well for a rehearsal dinner or engagement celebration, and the minis are made for dancing at after-parties!
