It seems like Meghan Markle and her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, are getting along just swimmingly. On Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex and the Queen appeared at their first event together sans Prince Harry and not only were they all smiles (seriously, just look at how much fun they’re having), it appears Meghan was also debuting a new pair of earrings that were a gift from the Queen.

For the official event in Cheshire in northern England, the Duchess chose a cream, belted Givenchy dress for the occasion, while the Queen wore a suit in her favored shade of lime green, similar to the one she wore the Harry and Meghan’s wedding. And while their fashion choices differed, both royals were spotted wearing similar pearl and diamond earrings. This morning, Buckingham Palace confirmed to reporters that the smaller version donned by Meghan were actually a gift from her new grandmother-in-law.
