OTM Bride and bridal stylist Samantha Levis got married in September 2019 at the Ojai Valley Inn. Fast forward three years later, and Samantha and her husband, Jack Levis, are expecting their first child together. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the mom-to-be decided to plan a beautiful party with Abby and Caroline Events.
For their April 2022 soiree, Samantha chose to host the day in her parents’ backyard in Los Angeles and was inspired by the pink and blue Charlie bows from the Brock Collection for Over The Moon capsule collection. “Brock was such a moment for my welcome party in Ojai as well, so it really came full circle and was just so special,” Samantha shares. “In 2019, we incorporated the Brock fabric of my dress into the corn toss boards, the beer koozies, the cocktail napkins, and so many other fun details! Working with Abby and Caroline on that party and then this one, they just knew how to tie it altogether.”
Of course, the bridal stylist wore a custom Brock Collection dress to the fête. “It’s one of my absolute favorite brands, and it was so amazing to wear over my wedding weekend,” Samantha says. “I loved the idea of carrying that through—first comes bridal, then comes baby.”
On April 24, Samantha and Jack set off a confetti canon, which showered everyone in blue confetti, signaling the sex of the child. They also cut a cake from Pinic Baked Goods that had blue frosting in the middle. Samantha felt “truly over the moon—no pun intended.” She goes on to say, “The results had been in for weeks, so waiting until the party was tough—I am terrible with surprises. I also kept thinking, were my ‘maternal instincts’ right? Had they kicked in yet and I had guessed right all along?!”
Guests then moved to the table which had pink and blue Charlie bows at each setting and complementary florals by Pigsty. A southern menu of picnic fried chicken, cornbread, and mac and cheese by Little Nelly and Whoa Nelly was served—a nod to Samantha’s southern roots.
The future mother is excited to welcome their little one to the world. “I pulled the trigger on a diaper bag and have started buying the cutest little outfits, so that’s been really fun and fitting!” she exclaims. And her advice to moms planning similar parties is to hire a planner or coordinator, if possible, and make it personal. “With pregnancy and work, there is enough happening and changing every day, so it was really nice to have a collaborative partner and someone to help with execution, so you don’t obsess over every little detail.”
