Stella McCartney Unveils Her First Bridal Collection

By Over The Moon

When Meghan Markle stepped out of Windsor Castle in a silk-crepe halter neck dress by Stella McCartney for the evening reception of the royal wedding, future brides everywhere immediately saved that image for their inspiration boards. Now lucky for them, Stella McCartney has unveiled her very first bridal collection, and thankfully, there’s a dress very similar to the one she custom designed for the Duchess of Sussex.

McCartney’s “Made with Love” collection features 17 minimalist looks that are sure to appeal to brides who are looking for something more modern and high fashion for their wedding day. There are fun lace jumpsuits, sleek double-breasted suits, and several wedding dresses that are reminiscent of McCartney’s red carpet designs, such as the ivory, long sleeved, backless gown that channels Rihanna’s McCartney cropped look for the 2014 Met Gala.

But the fact that these designs seem familiar is no coincidence. “When I designed this collection, I took some classic Stella McCartney pieces and relooked at them and reenergized them with the spirit that is now in the future of weddings—the modern bride’s approach to her dress,” McCartney told Vogue. “It was important to me to embody the core values of our house, so the collection has elements of sustainability as well. It truly reflects different ages, and I think so many different women come to us, so I really wanted to reflect that in the bridal offering.”

Stella McCartney’s “Made With Love” collection will be available at Stella McCartney stores and soon at major retailers including Nordstrom.
