As part of the new partnership between Vera Wang and Pronovias, the first Vera Wang Bride collection has just made its debut—and brides-to-be everywhere are rejoicing. The extensive selection of 60 bridal dresses reflects Vera Wang Bride’s messaging on “freedom, experimentation, and innovation along with a tangible ingenuity in the details and tailoring. In short, no rules,” Wang says.
Indeed, there is something here for every bride. “My intent was to make sure that certain Vera Wang design codes were identifiable in Vera Wang Bride,” Wang explains. “Fashionistas will notice [my] love of deconstructed decadence in wistful antique lace, neo-Gothic romance in mikado gowns with slimline, corset bodices, reinvented red carpet looks in sensual crepe and architectural innovation using plisé and folding that dress the body in a new, contemporary elegance.” There is also an emphasis accessories with oversize bows, sash belts, detachable cape sleeves, headpieces, corsages, and leather gloves à la Wang.
With sizes from a US 0-23 and a price point varying from $1,800-$5,000, brides will be truly over the moon to walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang Bride gown. As Sex And The City and Bride Wars have cemented on screen, there is nothing quite like a wedding dress designed by Vera Wang—and it’s safe to say we’ll be more of them down the aisle next fall.
