Over The Moon Bride and Wall Street C-Suite Executive Arielle Patrick memorably married her husband, Aaron Goldstein, in a beautiful custom gown designed by her dear friend Zac Posen. Nearly a year later, the Goldsteins celebrated another major milestone with a baby shower in New York City on April 3, 2022.

The soon-to-be parents are expecting a girl but are keeping the baby’s name under wraps for now; instead, the couple is waiting to see what she looks like before making any final decisions. “I was supposed to be named Lauren, but when I came out in the hospital, my parents saw my face and had to go back to the drawing board,” Arielle explains. “I love that story and will take a similar approach.”

To help plan everything two months in advance, Arielle enlisted the help of her friend Troy Williams, the Founder of Simply Troy. “My next step was to connect him with my friends who had asked to throw my shower, and it was the perfect match!” she rejoices. “Although I stayed close to the event thematically, they really kept me out of the loop on details, so it was such a beautiful surprise to see my vision come to life.”

Shortly after, two of her best friends, Christina and Nikki, offered to put together a baby shower. The first person Arielle connected them with was Jill Ryder, an incredibly talented calligrapher of Shindig Bespoke. “No one understands my aesthetic like Jill: whimsical yet traditional, playful yet elegant, wild yet clean,” Arielle explains.

The weekend of the shower, the future mom’s best friends and baby shower hosts surprised her with a girls’ baby-moon at the St. Regis hotel. “I was blown away and cried for at least 10 minutes when I received the itinerary and packing list,” she remembers.

Arielle hasn’t felt particularly drawn to maternity clothing, so she chose to wear one of her favorite brands, LoveShackFancy, to her baby shower instead: an empire-waist pink floral gown. For the finishing touches, the mom-to-be kept it simple. “Renny Vasquez of Pat McGrath and my hairstylist, Shoshana Constante, have been with me for a long time, and they know I like to look exactly like myself just rested!” Arielle exclaims. “They’re also the same glam-masters who perfected her bridal beauty look.

When the big day finally came, it was important for Arielle to avoid anything too saccharine. “I’m allergic to awkwardness!” she jokes. That meant no cheesy games or opening gifts in front of the staggering 110 guests. All she needed was “good food, drinks, a stellar playlist, good conversations, and speeches by my brother, parents, and close friends!” It was just as crucial that she make a point to stay present, so she tuck her iPhone away in a friend’s purse before the festivities began, which in turn let her soak in every moment.

The venue was transformed for the momentous occasion. Pastel florals by a.p. bio floral design studio accented the space perfectly, while a custom crest was incorporated into everything from the butter covers to the entrance box to pillows covers by Lola Valentina and a digital display on a screen above the bar.

“My favorite part was that our hosts had guests surprise us by bringing children’s books with inscriptions for us,” Arielle explains. Her father also brought an exceptional first-edition Nancy Drew mystery. “He’s a prolific rare book collector, so this was a special treat.”

The expectant mom leaves us with this vital baby shower advice: “Be yourself and don’t be afraid to tell people what you do not want!” After all, mother (or one to be) knows best)
