Karlie Kloss just had her first wedding anniversary, and to celebrate, she posted a video to her YouTube channel, Klossy, titled “The Making of My Wedding Gown” with this message:

“It’s been a year since I wore the wedding dress of my dreams. Thank you Maria Grazia Chiuri and Dior for making me feel like I was in a fairytale. It took 10 couturiers 10 days to construct this work of art; I will never forget it.”

In the nine-minute video, Kloss first receives the initial sketch of her custom gown on September 17th, 2018, while she’s at home in New York. She opens the dossier from Christian Dior and takes out a mood board, lace samples, and the beautiful sketches—leaving her to decide whether to wear cream, ivory, or white down the aisle.

11 days later in Paris, Kloss has her first official dress fitting. She walks with her mom to Dior’s atelier, where MGC comes and unveils the gown. Tears are shed. “It’s so beautiful. It’s beyond my wildest dreams,” Kloss says. Then, she finally gets to put her Christian Dior Couture dress on!

Her final fitting was two days before her wedding, again in New York. The gown comes delivered in a box from JFK with Christian Dior Couture tape securely wrapped around every corner. With the package is also an adorable lace, double bowed pillow for the rings and her Dior slingback pointed-toe flats with “KARLIE” on the strap in rhinestones. She puts on the finished couture creation and is told that it took 700 hours of work, 10 couturiers, and 10 days to construct.
