Marc Jacobs Got Engaged At, Wait for It . . . Chipotle

By Alexandra Macon

Marc Jacobs (unsurprisingly) gets points for creativity! On Wednesday night, he proposed to longtime partner, model/candlemaker Charly Defrancesco, amidst chips and dip at Chipotle, of all places, popping the question only after a flashmob performed for the couple. Needless to say, the two share a great sense of humor.

Jacobs and Defrancesco took in the synchronized dance to Prince’s “Kiss” at the Mexican eatery, and then, the former Louis Vuitton creative director got down on one knee. Defrancesco seemed surprised in the social media footage the couple posted after the fact (see above), and looking stunned, simply nodded his head “yes.”

The cute couple started dating back in 2015 after celebrating New Year’s Eve together, and shortly thereafter they were referring to each other as “bae” on Instagram and Defrancesco was sitting front row at fashion shows, so things have definitely been serious for a while. On Wednesday, Jacobs called Defrancesco “the love of my life” in a special post honoring his now-fiancé’s birthday. We say cheers to them and best wishes for many years of married happiness to come!
