When blogger and cinematographer Sabine Laventure was putting together the guest list for a party to celebrate her best friend’s job promotion, she remembered that photographer Raymond Laventure and her friend were college pals and promptly sent out an invite to him. At the fête, Sabine and Ray hit it off, and two years later, he proposed in Charleston. “While we were strolling down Rainbow Row, a stranger kindly offered to take photos of me. As I began to pose, she casually suggested including my boyfriend at the time in the shots,” Sabine shares. “When I turned to get his attention, I was stunned to find him on one knee! My heart skipped one million beats that day!”
On October 8, 2023, Sabine and Ray exchanged vows at Hillside State in Dallas. And today—just weeks shy of their anniversary—the Miami-based blogger is sharing her Dream Over The Moon Registry.
Sabine describes her aesthetic as reflecting “a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, celebrating the essence of being feminine while remaining effortlessly chic!” She and Ray are saving up for their first home, but when she moved into her husband’s space, she gradually incorporated warm touches like florals, soft candles, and cozy throws. “He’s gotten so used to it that I have him running to Jo Malone to replace our wood sage and sea salt candle when it runs out!”
For Sabine’s Dream Registry, she focused on true registry essentials with some elevated decor sprinkled in. The Le Creuset 10-Piece Set was a must add because of its durability for everyday cooking and special occasion prep. And the Wedgwood Gio Gold 5-Piece Place Setting follows her mother’s advice that every woman should have nice quality china for entertaining. “Seeing this set instantly made me think of her!” Sabine exclaims.
Lastly, Sabine highlighted the Waterford Classic Frame. “It’s the perfect frame to display your favorite wedding photo on your night stand or vanity,” she states.
The blogger leaves us with key advice for couples making their Over The Moon Registries: “It’s essential to choose items that reflect both of your needs and preferences while considering how you envision your life as a married couple. Focus on quality over quantity; select items that you genuinely will use and cherish. Don’t forget to include a mix of practical essentials—like kitchenware and home goods—as well as a few luxurious or fun items that can add joy to your everyday life. Lastly, keep in mind that your registry should be flexible; you can always update it as you discover new needs or interests together. Enjoy the process and celebrate this exciting new chapter!”
