Over The Moon’s Guide to Bermuda

Did you know in Bermuda the entire month of May celebrates its heritage with cultural activations, colorful shorts, and Goslings Rum galore? It’s the perfect excuse to visit this month!

And with new direct flights via BermudAir from Charleston, Providence, Richmond, and more East Coast cities, the British Colony, where English travelers shipwrecked in 1609 and inspired Shakespeare’s The Tempest, has never been an easier destination.

When to Go

Depending on your priorities, nearly every month of the year is a great time to visit Bermuda. For a true beach trip, aim for dates from late May through mid-October. The shoulder seasons can be ideal too; we visited in March, and the weather was just warm enough to be by the sand. However, hurricane season runs from June to November, but it’s important to note that these storms are less frequent in Bermuda than other Caribbean islands.

Where to Stay

The Loren at Pink Beach is our number one pick. It’s one of the only luxe hotels on the island, where the beach is directly accessible (and private). And with a 10,700 square-foot, six-bedroom private residence steps away from the lobby, it’s an up and coming wedding and bachelorette destination for sure.

If not in The Residence, the hotel’s suites and villas all feature a modern island aesthetic with Sferra towels and Malin + Goetz amenities.

For weddings, The Loren offers seven different spaces, both indoor and outdoor, and can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Where to Eat

The Pink Beach Club at The Loren will be your mainstay for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It sounds almost too basic to believe, but trust us when we recommend the avocado toast. And do not leave Bermuda without trying rockfish and lion fish.

This summer, The Loren continues its Summer Guest Chef Series with the best culinary experts around. And proceeds benefit The Loren Roots Imperative, a non-profit created to help offset the carbon footprint of development.

Things to Do

Nothing feels more like a treat to oneself like a beautiful boat day. Hit the open water and sail on a catamaran to feel the island breeze. Whether a full day diving in the cool blue water is called for or a romantic sunset cruise, we recommend booking with True Charters for the most professional and luxurious experience.

When not sailing the sea, The Loren’s Sisley Spa beckons. DiscoverSisley’s exclusive Phyto-Aromatic treatments while surrounded by turquoise waters.

Want to get even more zen? The Loren is also home to Salt Yoga Bermuda. Jump in on a weekly outdoor class, or book a private session to work on your pigeon pose.
