OTM Top Planner Augusta Cole’s Guide to St. Barths

By Over The Moon

Our June 2025 Digital Cover features Over The Moon Bride Caroline Conway’s destination wedding in St. Barths. The island has been one of our longtime favorite places for nuptials, bachelorette fêtes, honeymoons, and more. And to celebrate this latest real wedding feature, we asked Caroline’s planner, Over The Moon The List Planner Augusta Cole, to share her complete guide to the island:

Where to Stay

Cheval Blanc

The hotel on the island where you truly want for nothing! It is a stunning oasis with all of the amenities: fabulous restaurants, lovely spa, gorgeous pool, and of course, the sprawling ocean. The rooms are varied and beautiful. . .highly recommend for the most discerning of travelers!

Eden Rock St Barths

The moment you step onto the property, you are transported to the best, vibey vacation of your life. It oozes with a good time and the rooms are incredibly chic and each uniquely appointed. If you like to be in the mix and always in the mood for a party, this is the place and you will never want to leave.

Hotel Christopher

I have not been, but I have heard great things and that it is a fab option for a party.

Le Sereno

Giving barefoot, breezy, and effortlessly beautiful, Le Sereno is intentionally understated to feel immersed in its seaside landscape. With a fab food and beverage scene and an utterly island feel, Le Sereno offers clean yet bohemian luxuries. Le Sereno and Le Toiny are only five minutes from each other!

Le Toiny

Tucked in the bluffs over Toiny Bay, Le Toiny is an ideal island getaway. Removed from the pulse of the beach club parties, it offers stunning views, polished yet relaxed interiors, and high touch service. House Land Rovers whisk you down to the beach to enjoy their freshly designed club in cool shades of soft blues and whites.

Tropical

This is a gem of a hotel for the island. It is just up the hill from Eden Rock and the line-up of St. Jean beach clubs, but at a bit of a lower price point! We suggest Tropical as an additional hotel for a party weekend or if you are exploring boutique options on the island!

WIMCO Villas

An invaluable resource for Villas—highly responsive team, in our experience!

Where to Go for Lunch/Day Party

Gyp Sea Beach Club

This particular place has a very relaxed Caribbean feel but still with a great party pulse.

La Guérite Beach

No stranger to the French beach club scene, this is the sister to the Cannes institution. La Guérite with its wood-fired breads, grilled fresh catch, divine pastas, and other French-Mediterranean delights is a must-visit for us. The decor is tailored and chic with terracotta and tile details, but the open layout and perfectly placed DJ is wildly conducive to a party.

Le Toiny Beach Club

Secluded and design-forward, Le Toiny’s beach club is absolutely perfect for a relaxing afternoon or a little romantic getaway!

NAO BEACH

I haven’t been here, but it is always in the line up of suggested clubs! From what I can tell, it consistently looks pretty from the beach.

Shellona

This spot is a little oasis on Shell Beach. Visit for lunch or stay the day!

Where to Go for Dinner

Bonito

An awesome first-night dinner! Overlooking the red roofs and glistening harbor of Gustavia, Bonito with its signature blue and white interiors always has a good beat, iconic cocktails like the bathtub, and the best views to welcome you to what St. Barths is all about. We chose Bonito for the Thursday night intimate Rehearsal Dinner for Caroline and Stuart just for this reason! Its sister restaurant is Betula in Aspen.

L’Isola

It’s unusual to love a purely indoor restaurant on the Island, but this Gustavia mainstay is cozy and features very good Italian fare.

Sella

A standout for its unique waterfront setting, memorable Middle Eastern cuisine, and the wild party it can become if you enjoy that late seating!

Tamarin

Set in a lush jungle surrounding, the food emphasizes exotic Caribbean flavors. It’s a longstanding favorite among regulars and a great environment for a private party!

Things to Do

Hiking

The island can be a constant party from the full-day lunches at the beach clubs to late nights dancing, but you can also slip in some wellness and natural wonder on the gorgeous island.

We love hiking Grand Fond, Colombier, or Le Toiny Point. Reference these key spots when planning your route with your hotel or villa concierge! Le Petite Colombe and Eden to Go are the best bakeries for grab-and-go picnic items.

Shopping

The island is sprinkled with different towns. St. Jean featuring the line-up of beach clubs—Nikki, Nao, Gyp Sea, and La Guérite—has charming boutiques and a great French pharmacy. Don’t miss Filles de Îles and Lili Belle for ideal island looks and only on the island finds.

Gustavia, the capital and main town, offers beautiful boutiques featuring most major designers. A lowkey juxtaposition to the luxurious shopping is a locals’ favorite corner cafe, Bar de L’Oubli. This is a must on my agenda.
