Abby Judelman and Adam Feldman first met one Saturday afternoon at a birthday party in New York City, brought together by mutual friends. They hit it off right away, and as fate would have it, Abby was already planning to attend another party later that evening. . . at Adam’s apartment—thanks to an invitation from his roommate’s girlfriend!
The serendipitous day marked the beginning of it all, and after five years together he proposed in the city on the High Line during the coldest frost of the year. The couple actually lived in Los Angeles at the time, but as Abby visited family for the weekend, Adam surprised her. “After the proposal, we shared an intimate brunch at Waverly Inn—one of our favorites—and spent the night at The Bowery Hotel,” Abby recalls. “Adam surprised me with an engagement party that night with friends and family.”
The to-be-weds were taken with Ravello from the moment they arrived—two summers before their wedding when Adam surprised Abby with a trip to the Amalfi Coast. “We stumbled upon the town of Ravello almost by accident, and it captured our hearts instantly,” she notes. “We spent the afternoon walking through the picturesque cobblestone streets where we found a wedding that was being set up, and we agreed in that moment that if we were to get married one day, this is the place we would do it.” Belmond Caruso was the clear choice. “The venue truly feels like the place where the sea blends with the sky, and you’re suspended in the clouds.”
As for aesthetics, the two planned to embrace color as much as possible with “whimsical, playful, and vibrant” as the heading direction, according to Abby. “We felt clear in the vision of our wedding reception feeling like an al fresco dinner party with our nearest and dearest under the stars and wanted the decor to feel like a natural extension of the olive trees, lemon groves, and natural florals that surrounded us,” Abby explains. Laura Frappa and Alessandra Stefani of Exclusive Italy Weddings brought their vision to life exquisitely. My Lady Dye headed the stationery, informing the guests of the celebrations to come in vibrant manner.
“I did things a bit out of order,” Abby admits of her wedding wardrobe, “and ended up falling in love with a veil before finding a dress! I spotted my Toni Federici veil across the room and immediately gravitated toward it. I cried as soon as I put it on and knew I’d tailor the rest of my look to carry that veil.” To complete the look, she eventually decided on a Danielle Frankel dress from Loho Bride. “I had my sights set on a creamy ivory gown—a classic yet elevated silhouette that felt timeless.” Alessandro Mancino Studios added the final touch, a glowing bridal beauty look.
The groom wore a Tom Ford ivory suit and brown loafers by Gucci. “His suit had a vintage feel to it—wide peak lapels!—which we both loved,” Abby shares. “I cried when he first tried it on at the store!”
On September 3, 2023, Abby and Adam exchanged vows beneath a stunning chuppah, adorned with a custom, hand-embroidered tallit that served as the centerpiece of their ceremony. “Adam’s were brilliant and no less than 10 minutes long—he’s not one for brevity!” the bride laughs. “We genuinely felt like the luckiest two people alive. To be in our favorite place on earth, surrounded by the people we love most, was a pretty transformative feeling. It wasn’t lost on us how much time, money, and energy our guests spent to travel to our wedding and we were more than grateful.”
After the I dos, the newlyweds toasted in an European-style reception—a formal dinner surrounded by Flower Addicted arrangements and Lisa Corti tablescapes followed by dancing and a DJ underneath the olive trees. An Italian millefogile cake—cut poolside—closed the classic Italian dining experience, before the energy sparked on the dance floor. To the delight of guests, the couple danced a salsa to “Bam Bam” by Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran.
By 3 a.m. the party had shifted to a local wine bar and the bride switched into a vintage sequin mini that she found at A Current Affair. The dancing felt never-ending, and when the celebrations finally wound down the couple headed off to Ischia for their honeymoon.
