It was a near perfect Nantucket day. Brittany Bogdan and Garret Komjathy were fresh off Madaket Beach sipping cocktails and dining on the seafood fare at Millies. Near perfect, only because, just as they finished the oyster-clad menu, a fog rolled in that halted their plans to return to the beach to watch the sunset. Even though the two wouldn’t see a thing, Garret insisted they go anyway. “I should’ve suspected something was up,” Brittany remembers. It was there in the sand that Garret dropped to one knee and proposed.

The bride-to-be’s family has been visiting Singer Island along Florida’s eastern coast for more than fifty years. And, as Garret has family in the area, it only made sense the two would host their winter wedding in the sun. “We fell in love with the Pelican Club once we saw the beautiful view of the Jupiter Lighthouse and the Intracoastal from the deck,” Brittany says. “I love the Old Florida aesthetic and wanted our wedding to reflect that with retro details, fun colors, and prints. Our wedding attire was Palm Beach Chic and our guests dressed to impress!” The couple enlisted Courtney Paige to plan the celebration and Jessica Bordner to photograph it all. Kelsey Kelley crafted a custom invitation suite–with the bride’s aesthetic in mind, of course.

For the rehearsal dinner on The Mariner III yacht, Brittany topped her Zimmerman look with Nicola Bathie earrings and a Jennifer Behr’s Bailey Pearl Bow Barrette. The next morning, just before changing into custom Fanm Mon dresses, Brittany gifted her bridesmaids Hill House Home Nap Dresses which matched the day of design details.

“I actually bought my Jimmy Choo wedding shoes before I even had a wedding dress!” Brittany admits. The moment she spotted Oscar de la Renta’s Fern dress, she knew she’d found her ceremony look. “I knew the minute I put on that dress that it was the one for me. And the high-low hem perfectly showcased my shoes.” Then she opted for the Jennifer Behr Alana Earrings. Her mother’s sapphire ring served as her “something borrowed” and “something blue.”

“For the reception, I wanted something shorter to dance in, so I changed into the Carolina Herrera Embroidered Heart Strapless Mini Dress from Over The Moon. It was also the perfect match for my pearl heels!” The bride ended the night in a sequin number by Markarian. Kate Blake was the artist behind the bride’s glowing beauty look and Ivy & Lace pulled her hair into a low bun. “I’ve never felt more beautiful than I did that day.”

As for the groom, he chose a chambray jacket complete with Venetian leather slippers by Stubbs & Wootton

On February 24, 2024, guests gathered on the Pelican Club’s outdoor deck, beautifully adorned with florals by Southern Floral Company. The ceremony was a heartfelt, intimate affair, officiated by a close family friend of the groom—a federal judge. Brittany made her way down the aisle on her father’s arm to Master Musicians’s string quartet rendition of Avicii’s “Levels,” a playful nod to the groom and a prelude to their recessional song, “Wake Me Up.” “All of my nerves faded away once I heard the string quartet version of ‘Levels,’ locked eyes with Garret, and enjoyed the giggles and cheers from our friends and family as I walked down the aisle,” Brittany reflects.

After they married, the newlyweds boarded the Honeyfitz yacht to soak in golden hour. Looking back, sailing along the Intracoastal as newlyweds is one of the bride’s favorite memories of the day. “I grew up fishing alongside this yacht in Palm Beach and it was an absolute dream to be able to see the gorgeous interior and have the opportunity to take our wedding photos here,” she notes. “We loved seeing all of our guests from the top deck of the boat and cheer for us to ring the bell. It’s a moment Garret and I will cherish forever.”

The reception was everything the bride imagined. “It was awesome to see all the details we had planned over a year and a half come to life,” she says. “I’ll never forget how special we felt to have all of our family and friends we love in one place celebrating with us. I didn’t want the night to end!” After the wedding cake by Earth and Sugar marked the end of dinner, The Social Dance Band queued everything from Rosalita to “Murder on the Dancefloor.” “Everyone had the best time dancing, including my 90-year-old grandmother who was leading the conga line!”

The celebrations wrapped up at Casa Casa, and the following morning the newlweyds held one final celebration on the water. The bride carried Poolside’s OTM Exclusive: Monogram Lori Tote. “[It] was one of my favorite accessories of the weekend!” she gushes. “I brought this tote beachside, poolside, boat-side and everywhere in between.” As for their honeymoon, after farewells from their guests Garret and Brittany traveled to Japan for skiing in Niseko, sightseeing in Tokyo before visiting in Kyoto.
