Long before saying, “I do,” Carla Bennett cheered Victor Law on during his grade school basketball games. Being only a year apart meant their social circles frequently overlapped, and over time, the pair developed a friendship that felt entirely their own. Years of shared experiences built a foundation of admiration and trust that, by the end of college, naturally evolved into something more.
After five years together, Victor proposed at one of the couple’s favorite spots in New York, Dominique Ansel Bakery. Close friends and family quietly flew in from across the country to witness the moment. Afterward, the group continued the celebration at Las’ Lap, turning what began as an intimate proposal into a joyful gathering of the community that had supported their relationship from the start.
On August 8, 2025, Carla and Victor were married at FORTH Hotel in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. While exploring the area during the planning process, the couple discovered the hotel and immediately connected with its design-forward aesthetic.
To bring their vision to life, the couple partnered with planner Tinted Events, led by Jacqueline “Jax” Vizcaino. Drawing on the bold palette of the rooftop space, the design leaned into bright colors and playful energy while maintaining an elegant, modern atmosphere. Floral designer Full Bloom by Lauren created vibrant arrangements that carried through the ceremony and reception, adding warmth and movement to the space. The colorful vision extended to the paper suite, designed by Prickly Pear Studio.
Carla approached her bridal style with a clear vision. For the ceremony, she chose a dramatic look from The White Magnolia Bridal Collection, drawn to its fitted bodice, intricate detailing, and sweeping train. She paired the gown with Aquazzura heels and soft, luminous glam created by beauty artists Glam by Maame, Glam by Leanna, Amber Nikol MUA, and Abena’s Studio. Later in the evening, she changed into a shorter reception look by Nadine Merabi—a playful second dress that felt perfectly suited to the high-energy dance floor that followed.
The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt, set amid colorful blooms that framed the altar. “I felt excited to be marrying my best friend,” Carla says, reflecting on the moment she reached Victor at the altar. “We were both grateful that so many of our loved ones traveled from all over the country—and the world—to be with us.” The celebration was beautifully documented by photographer Katie Gracen, with videography by Rosemary Films.
After the ceremony, guests moved into the reception, where the tone quickly shifted into celebration. The evening balanced sentimental moments with a lively party atmosphere, beginning with heartfelt speeches from their parents, best man, and maid of honor before the dance floor officially opened.
Wanting to honor their shared roots, the couple asked DJ D. Jones of Spark Entertainment Group to incorporate a strong nod to Chicago throughout the playlist. The result was exactly what they’d hoped for: a packed dance floor and an atmosphere that felt as joyful as it was nostalgic.
Carla and Victor shared their first dance to “Find Someone Like You” by Snoh Aalegra before guests soon joined them on the floor, turning the reception into what Carla describes as something of a reunion. Many friends had known the couple since their school days, making the celebration feel like the coming together of years of shared memories.
By the end of the evening, guests departed with sweet treats—lemon blueberry and chocolate cake trifles from Gingerspice Bakery—a final thoughtful detail that reflected the couple’s warm approach to hosting.
