William Stuart Coleman first met Caroline Conway at the 30th birthday he was throwing for his brother. “I think there may have been some behind the scenes plotting to set us up!” Caroline exclaims. “We went on our first date the next week.”
After three years together, Stuart proposed in a sentimental place for his family. The pair were on a boat in Charleston Harbor on the way to meet his parents for dinner. “Stuart asked if I needed a refill of my espresso martini and went into the cooler, from which he pulled out the ring,” she remembers. “This also happened to be timed as we passed the pink house on the Battery where his parents had first met.”
Wanting a weekend of celebration and vacation with their loved ones, the couple—with Over The Moon The List Planner Augusta Cole—landed on hosting their wedding at Eden Rock on St. Barths. Over The Moon The List Photographer Corbin Gurkin and Over The Moon The List Videographer Le Rêve lensed the whole weekend. Over The Moon The List Illustrator Julie King Studio set the tone with a tropical invitation suite.
For her spring destination nuptials, Caroline worked with stylist Cynthia Cook Smith for her bridal wardrobe. She started—and ended—the weekend in Oscar de la Renta. For the welcome party at La Guérite, the bride wore a One/Of top with a Giambattista Valli skirt and Marie Helene de Taillac earrings.
On May 4, 2024, Caroline got ready for the ceremony in a Doên dress with hairstylist Lisa Chiccine and makeup artist Maribeth Madron before putting on her Oscar de la Renta dress. “It was the first dress I tried on, and there was zero question about it!” Caroline exclaims. Later on, she changed into a Chanel after-party dress to dance the night away in.
Cynthia also styled all the bridal party in a mix of patterns and textures. Caroline’s sister and step-sister both wore Monique Lhuillier.
At St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church—decorated with greenery and florals by B. Floral—Caroline and Stuart exchanged vows. “It was a beautiful and sacred moment’s pause in a weekend full of much partying,” the bride reflects. “It reminded us why we were there and rounded everything out for us with this ceremonial note.”
The delicious reception dinner was served at Eden Rock atop Esencial Hogar linens and Petunia Rose tabletop and finished with coconut and red velvet cakes.
Then the band from Élan Artists kicked things off. The newlyweds shared a first dance to “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie.
Once Caroline was in Chanel, she joined DJ Jayli, and Al Sax to party. “There were some outfit changes by guests into more comfortable and breezy clothing,” the bride explains. “[I] loved seeing the transformations throughout our photos.” Al Sax’s energy carried over to the following day at the “impromptu very St Barths Sunday ‘wedding’ at Nikki Beach!”
