Even though content creator Devin Apollon and Gabriel Hayon, who works in real estate development, met on April Fools’ Day, their first encounter was no humorous joke and, instead, the start of something life-changing. As she was leaving the Soho Grand Hotel with friends, he tapped her on the shoulder and said, “You’re so beautiful.”

After two years together, Gabe proposed at Rayavadee Resort in Krabi, Thailand. “I slightly knew something was up because 1. He said, ‘I’m so nervous,’ out of the blue and 2. He did not rush me or even talk to me when getting ready. That is extremely rare,” she laughs. Once Devin—coincidentally dressed in white—made it to the beach, he dropped to one knee, knowing that was her dream engagement setting.

Devin and Gabe knew they wanted to get married in the Northeast and landed on Newport, Rhode Island, eventually booking Rosecliff. “I wanted elegance but wanted to make it organic and lived-in like our travels together,” the bride says of the aesthetic. “A special touch to our wedding was having  dark florals only outside during the cocktail hour and whites in the ballroom; it made the wedding feel like one of a kind.”

To bring their fall nuptials to life, the couple enlisted the help of Pamela D’Orsi of PDR Events. And during the weekend, photographer Stephanie Vegliante was on-hand to capture every meaningful moment.

For Devin’s wedding weekend wardrobe, she actually turned to fellow OTM Bride Kennedy Schmidt of Bisou Bride. The “Starry Gilded Nights” welcome party called for something classic and fresh. “I wore a gorgeous Valentino gown, green emerald tassel earrings from my jeweler, Katerina Maxine, blinding fine necklace from Grown Brilliance, Aquazurra heels, and a Hermès clutch that completed the look,” Devin shares.

The next morning, the bride got ready in a Valentino look from the ’60s, paired with her grandmother’s gold bracelet and fresh water pearl necklace. “She couldn’t make it, so that was a very important touch to my look,” Devin states. And Chanel beauty was used exclusively by Lila Childs throughout the weekend.

Then, Devin put on her custom Danielle Frankel wedding dress. It was actually re-imagined from an existing design. “I asked Breyanna, who was the sweetest at the Danielle Frankel studio, ‘Could we make this white, can we add a two-foot train, and can we add lace appliqués?'” she shares. “When I came in for my accessories fitting, I knew pairing it with a turtleneck long sleeve underlay with the matching lace from the bottom of the dress was key.”

Devin’s reception look was the Art Nouveau Dress by Wiederhoeft. “It took 10 months to make, and I was the first to ever wear it,” Devin gushes. “When I saw it go down the runway, it truly sparked my attention.” She styled it with Jennifer Behr earrings and a diamond necklace from her jeweler.

The last look of the night was a custom ’20s-inspired creation by Undone by Kate. “After all the tightness in my looks, I wanted to feel flowy and fun for the rest of the night,” Devin explains. “Once I changed into that, the party really began.”

On October 25, 2025, guests were escorted via red trollies for the ceremony in the salon. As the service started, the bride felt the emotions of the day. “As if I did not sob prior when I had my first look with Gabe and my dad, I started crying when I joined my dad and walked down the aisle seeing everyone for the first time that day,” Devin shares. “As I saw Gabe in the distance, everything just hit me—all the anticipation, all the love, the fact that our time was finally here.”

After being announced as officially married, the newlyweds celebrated with their loved ones at a fall-coded reception. They shared a first dance to “Ordinary” by Alex Warren. “Gabe listens to radio—I know, major weirdo—so whenever we were in his car ‘Ordinary’ would play, and we would sing it on the top of our lungs,” Devin shares. “When thinking about a first dance song, we knew we had to do that.”

When guests weren’t dancing with Groovin’ You Entertainment, they were treating themselves to the dessert spread by Confectionery Designs. And after the after-party, the remaining revelers took the trollies into town to a local bar to continue celebrating. “That was only the first after-party because we did not want to exclude any of our family,” the bride says. “We moved into a late-night playlist with all our favorite songs from college and the early 2000s, made by my cousin. There were espresso martinis, late-night bites, and so much dancing. It honestly felt like this blur of laughter and music—the perfect way to end the night surrounded by all of our favorite people.”
