Hold On Nick and Priyanka—This Might Be The Biggest Wedding of the Year

Take Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s elaborate five day wedding celebration mix it with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s VIP guest list and add in a private Beyoncé performance and you’ll get the wedding of India’s Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal. Isha, who is the daughter of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh D. Ambani (Forbes puts his reported worth at around $43 billion), is set to marry her childhood sweetheart Anand this week, and the wedding is so extravagant, it’s making both of England’s royal weddings pale in comparison.

Let’s start with the guest list, shall we? Former U.S. Secretaries of State Hillary Clinton and John Kerry were already spotted dancing away at the Sangeet party that took place earlier in the week. Also expected are media heavyweights including James Murdoch and Ariana Huffington, Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and newlyweds Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who already shared a pic on their way to the party.

As for the venue, the wedding is set to take place at the bride’s family home, Antilia, in Mumbai, which is 27 stories high, includes six floors of parking garages, three helipads, and a snow room where walls release man-made snowflakes to help fight the Mumbai summer heat. It’s considered the world’s second most expensive private home—Buckingham Palace takes the big prize.

Finally, there’s Beyoncé’s big appearance. The singer arrived on Sunday for one of the wedding pre-parties in Udaipur and reportedly performed for 45-minutes several of her hits including “Crazy In Love” and “Perfect,” while changing into various costumes. She later shared a pic wearing a traditional Indian sari on her Instagram page.

The week-long wedding is reportedly costing the Ambani family close to $100 million. (For comparison, Harry and Meghan’s wedding which effectively took over Windsor had a price tag of around $40 million.) And while critics have denounced the lavish celebration in a country with a high poverty rate, the Ambani family already donated enough food to feed over 5,000 people for four straight days.

Here’s hoping the newylweds release a video à la Priyanka and Nick that features a snippet of Bey’s serenade.
