Jamie Schwartz, a buyer for Shopbop.com, and Bradley Robinson, a VP in private client advisory, found love in a hopeless place,as he likes to put it—BBar on 4th Street, to be exact. They were introduced by a mutual friend, near the end of the night. “We chatted, as I was waiting for a cab. He insisted he was going to take me on a date. I figured he was probably just drunk, and Id likely never see him again. The next day, I had a message from an unknown number that said, Ready for our date?” Seven years of dating later, and Bradley proposed on New Years Eve with a ring tied to a champagne bottle.

For their #goodgirlgonebrad wedding, they chose Treasure Beach in Jamaica, as Jamie had grown up going with her father, and it’s the place where Bradley and her father and brothers first met. Jakes Hotel has always been a favorite spot of theirs, so it felt like a dream when they were able to rent out the entire place along with surrounding villas for all of their guests. We really wanted our guests to relax and feel like they were on vacation, which I think they did,” Jamie says. To help plan all of the festivities, the two hired Melanie Miller

When approaching dress shopping, the bride-to-be knew she wanted something minimal that would do well in a tropical venue. When she got to Carolina Herrera, with her mother and two best friends in tow, Jamie found a long, sleek gown with black straps. “It was nothing like I had imagined myself wearing, but as soon as I put it on, I loved it,” she says. As her “something new,” her mother surprised her with diamond stud earrings, and for her “something borrowed” and “something blue,” she wore her grandmothers sapphire and diamond ring. For her beauty look, the bride convinced her dear friend, Daniel Duran, to fly straight from Paris Fashion Week to do her makeup for the weekend—now that’s what we call friendship!

The groom wore a custom suit and shirt from Freemans Sporting Club, loafers from Salvatore Ferragamo, and his late grandfather’s Rolex watch.

Just before sunset, overlooking the water, Jamie walked down the aisle with her father, and Jamie’s brother, Drew, officiated the ceremony. He did a great job of making everyone feel relaxed and welcome,” she says. After reading vows they had written themselves and sealing the deal with a kiss, guests headed under a beautiful tent on the lawn for the reception.

Everyone sat at two long tables lined with tropical greenery and custom napkins by Sarah Zellweger of SZ Block Prints, and a meal of lobster tail, filet mignon, Jamaican rice and beans, and local vegetables was served family style. For dessert, aside from cake, the most amazing mini key-lime pies were set out.

During the evening, Jamie’s dad gave a sweet toast, followed by a roast/toast by Brad’s brother and best man, Matt, and a memorable speech from Jamie’s man-of-honor, Sam. After dinner, everyone stayed on the dance floor until the end of the night. I loved that everyone was on the dance floor—from my 15 year old cousin, to Brad’s 90 year old great aunt.”

The couple had their first dance to Every Day Will Be Like a Holiday,” by William Bell, which faded into “Mrs. Robinson,” by Simon & Garfunkel—a crowd-pleasing tribute to their new last name. During the reception, everyone also walked down to the water and set off huge paper lanterns into the sky. “It was a moment of calm, in a crazy and fun night—and I think the first time Brad and I got to stop and be together for a moment after the ceremony,” Jamie says.

For the after-party, remaining guests headed to one of the villas for a beach bonfire. We had pizzas from Jack Sprat—a local pizza restaurant down the street with the best lobster pizza I’ve ever had. A lot of Red Stripes were had,” says the bride. “And the music and dancing continued until the early hours!”
