Jill Brammer was on a bad date at Sauced in Williamsburg, when two of Colleen Sullivan’s close friends, who were sitting next to Jill, intervened and successfully played matchmakers, quickly shooting off Jill’s number to Colleen. After two-and-a-half years together, Jill proposed in a cozy cabin in Upstate New York, and the duo started planning their destination wedding in Cabo.
Jill’s family has been vacationing in that area of Mexico for 20 years, so when their favorite restaurant, Flora Farms, revealed that they had an opening in November, the brides jumped at the opportunity to show their loved ones their slice of Cabo. “We really leaned into the Flora Farms aesthetic—simple, elegant, vibrant, and floral—and we created a color palette of pinks, oranges, yellows for our florals and used that as an anchor for the rest of the design and decor decisions,” Jill says of their wedding design.
Once the venue was secured, the brides brought on Bliss Events to bring the rest of their vision to life. Photographer Alfonso Flores and videographer Edgar Reyes lensed the entire weekend of celebrations. Stephanie Tara set the tone for the weekend with a bright invitation suite, noting the first event—a welcome party at Habaneros Bistro.
“Jill always knew that she wanted to wear a dress to her wedding, which was a shock to a lot of people because she usually rocks a suit as a wedding guest,” Colleen explains. She chose a sleek design by Stéphane Rolland with dramatic sleeves that she found at Mark Ingram Atelier and paired the dress with Christian Louboutins.
Colleen also surprised her loved ones—and herself—by choosing a more traditional-leaning strapless dress over a simplistic slip. The Amsale dress in Italian jacquard fabric even featured a detachable overskirt for added versatility. She styled her dress with Jimmy Choos and family heirloom jewels, and both brides got ready with Los Cabos Makeup.
On November 23, 2024, Jill’s childhood friend, Kyle, officiated the service, before the brides exchanged their own personal vows under a floral arch by Cristina G Florals. CaboStrings added to the ambiance, softly playing throughout the ceremony. In one lighthearted moment, Jill realized her vow book pages had stuck together, and she decided to start over from the beginning to get through it all. “We could hear the laughs and see the tears from the entire crowd,” Colleen remembers.
After being announced as officially married, the newlyweds joined their guests for the farm-to-table reception. “Everyone was on the dance floor for the ENTIRE reception which is exactly what we wanted!” Jill exclaims. The brides had their first dance to their favorite tune, “6’s to 9’s” by Big Wild with Kilometro Band. Then, Alex DJ Cabo, who also provided entertainment for Simone Biles’s wedding, brought the energy with a saxophonist.
The after-party commenced at Chambao. “About half the guests joined for at least a bit!” Jill exclaims. “We had nearly 150 guests travel to Cabo primarily from the New York area, so we wanted to keep the party going as long as possible!”
Keeping the energy and adventure going, Jill and Colleen headed to Patagonia for their honeymoon. “We traveled for about two weeks over the holidays and trekked on the Argentinian side—the views of Mount Fitz Roy did not disappoint!—as well as in Chile throughout Torres del Paine National Park,” Colleen explains. “We both love the mountains, and it was the perfect complement to our Cabo wedding weekend.”
