Everything We Know about Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Wedding

By Over The Moon

When is it?
While most destination weddings usually take place over the course of a weekend, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s celebrations started on Wednesday and will last until Sunday.

Is there more than one ceremony?
According to E! News, the couple will be hosting a large number of wedding-related celebrations, as is traditional in India. The span of events includes a Puja ceremony (which already took place at the bride’s mother’s home), a Sangeet (a pre-wedding dancing party), a Mehendi ceremony (a private event, in which the bride has traditional henna tattoos applied to her palms and arms), a Haldi ceremony (said to ward off evil and bless the couple) and two wedding ceremonies, one Christian and one Hindi. “People will need vacations after this wedding,” Chopra joked in her recent Vogue cover story.

Where is it?
Most of the wedding festivities will be taking place at the majestic Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodphur. With 347 rooms, their wedding venue is the sixth largest private home in the world—only one of their wings is open as a hotel—and is owned by the royal Jodhpur family. It spans over 25 acres and has several gardens, private dining halls, a ball room, and library. In other words, plenty of possibilities on where to host two wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Who will officiate?
The honor of officiating the Christian portion of their wedding will go to the groom’s father, Kevin Jonas Sr., who is a former ordained minister.

Who’s on the guest list?
For now, the only  people we can 100% confirm are attending are the bride and groom’s immediate family, which include Nick’s brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas, and his fiancée, Game of Thrones’s Sophie Turner. But there are many rumored celebrity guests, too, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (who co-starred in films with both Nick and Priyanka), Kelly Ripa, Armie Hammer, and Lupita Nyong’o.

Will Meghan Markle show up?
Even though Priyanka was one of the celebrity guests at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding earlier this year, sadly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be attending Priyanka and Nick’s wedding in India this weekend. The two actresses hit it off after meeting at a Women in Television dinner hosted by Elle magazine. According to a source, “Meghan isn’t trying to travel as much as she is pregnant,” hence she will not be making the trip to Jodhpur.

What’s this about a horse?
In Priyanka’s Vogue cover story, the actress revealed Nick’s wedding entrance plans, and let’s just say he won’t be walking down the aisle. “Jonas will dress like royalty, as is customary—turban, sword—and he’ll ride in on a horse,” the story read. Priyanka later asked him whether he was comfortable with the grand entrance, to which Nick replied, “I can’t wait.”
