At the beginning of the pandemic in April 2020, Sage Pierce and Adam Weber matched on Hinge. Their connection was instant, and after nearly three years together, Adam proposed in March 2023 at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs. “It was our first night of vacation, and he asked if I wanted to sit at the outdoor bar to grab a drink before dinner,” Sage remembers. “While we were walking to the outdoor bar, he turned around and got down on one knee.”
With their wedding, the couple aimed to gather their loved ones in a setting that felt both meaningful and scenic. Cape Cod was the natural choice. Having spent summers on the New England coast, Sage knew Nantucket would blend old memories with the promise of new ones.
The couple brought in Ken Solomon to plan the celebration and Nicole Bass to photograph. Held on June 22, 2024, the ceremony spoke to the beauty of the East Coast, boasting sprawling Flowers on Chestnut arrangements, hints of blue in Stephanie Tara stationery, and fresh seafood.
“It was very important for me to embrace the traditional, coastal vibe of Nantucket, but with a modern twist,” the bride says of her wedding wardrobe. For the welcome party, she wore Agua by Agua Bendita. “The minute I saw it I knew I had to have it. It was blue and white, with a high neck and low back, which is my favorite silhouette. I used an oyster-shaped clutch from Simkhai, which was a fun way to incorporate the coastal element.”
On her wedding day, Sage got ready with Paolina Doycheva and The Darya Salon, wearing a Doen mini dress before changing into her Danielle Frankel gown. “My wedding dress was Danielle Frankel, paired with a removable lace bolero that I wore during the ceremony,” she notes. “I have forever been obsessed with Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s wedding gown, which was my ultimate inspiration for my look. The ‘Charlie’ gown from Danielle Frankel felt like a perfect, timeless twist on a classic.” To pull it all together, her shoes were the “Carolyne” by Manolo Blahnik. “I loved my wedding dress so much, so I wasn’t planning on changing into a dress for our after-party. However, a few weeks before the wedding, I saw a blue floral appliqué gown from Rotate available and grabbed the last one in my size.”
Nantucket basked in sunshine all week, but as fate would have it, clouds covered on the day-of. “While the weather showed zero percent chance of rain all day, it actually started misting right as we walked down the aisle and throughout the ceremony,” the bride recalls. “While this would not be ideal for most, it felt like a stroke of luck—particularly as the rain stayed at a mist.”
Sage and Adam wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony in the shell garden at The Nantucket Hotel. “It sounds cliche, but it felt very magical,” she shares. “I walked down the aisle with my parents to ‘There She Goes’ by the La’s. It has been one of my favorite songs since I was a kid thanks to The Parent Trap. We walked back up the aisle to ‘Do You Believe in Magic.’”
The bride felt a sense of calm and excitement above all else. “Everybody kept asking me if I was nervous before walking down the aisle, but I was actually very calm and couldn’t be more excited to marry Adam. While we were reading our vows, we were distracted by two bunnies that ran by the chuppah during our ceremony. It was very sweet, and we later found out that rabbits are a symbol of good fortune and longevity.”
The reception began with a traditional Nantucket cocktail hour complete with a raw bar, seafood, and yacht rock music by The Sultans. “Being in the spirits industry, I made sure the cocktail menu was a genuine reflection of my passion and expertise,” notes the bride, who is the Remy Martin PR and marketing manager. “Guests were greeted with Champagne Telmont and Negronis—two of our favorites.”
The newlyweds chose James Morrison’s “Precious Love” for their first dance—a favorite moment for the couple. “We are really not great dancers at all and were really nervous to dance in front of everyone together, but once the music started playing, it felt like we were the only two people in the room,” she shares. “I couldn’t even get through what we had choreographed because I started tearing up.”
After Sage and Adam sliced the Nantucket Bake Shop cake, a DJ took over the after-party. Espresso martinis and truffle fries kept everyone in the celebratory spirit, and tambourines even made their way around, keeping the festive atmosphere alive until the early hours.
