Sarah Cameron and Scott Cameron’s love story began in Dubai in the summer of 2018—though not without a bit of chaos. What was meant to be a simple first date at Trader Vic’s quickly turned into an unforgettable evening, complete with surprise check-ins from Sarah’s brother and an impromptu after-party. “I couldn’t believe my brother was stealing my date from me,” Sarah laughs. “I can’t even imagine what Scott was thinking.” Despite it all, the two hit it off instantly.

After a brief three months together, the couple found themselves living in different countries—Scott in Australia and Sarah back in the U.S.—but they remained close. When they both eventually returned to Dubai, their connection picked up effortlessly. Two years later, Scott proposed in the Scottish Highlands during what Sarah describes as “a moment that felt both intimate and adventurous.” While he had planned to propose at the summit of a Munro, a sudden storm rerouted the moment. Instead, on a quiet bridge just before the trail’s end, he got down on one knee. “Before he even finished asking, I was crying and screaming yes with pure happiness,” she says. “It was flawless—completely our own.”

For Sarah, the vision for the wedding had always been rooted in romance. Years of traveling to France with her mother shaped her love for the country’s charm and elegance. “I was always in awe of the romance of Paris—the cafés, the people, the feeling that everyone was in love,” she shares. When the couple discovered Château Martinay, the attachment was immediate. With the help of planner Despinoy Wedding, the vision came to life.

On May 10, 2025, the couple said “I do” surrounded by the Provençal countryside, lensed by Over The Moon Directory Photographer Elise Morgan.

Fashion played a defining role in the day, beginning with Sarah’s dress. At home in Chicago she found Maria Farbinni’s Vittoria dress. “The moment I laid eyes on it, I was enchanted,” she says. The delicate lace, basque waist, and silhouette felt timeless, while a bolero jacket with French buttons added a distinctly European finish.

Her jewelry was personal—a pearl necklace gifted one bead at a time by her grandmother each birthday since childhood. “Wearing it on my wedding day meant everything to me,” she shares. She completed the look with Stuart Weitzman lace ballet flats and a bracelet gifted by her maid of honor. Scott, honoring his Scottish heritage, wore a traditional kilt in the Flower of Scotland tartan.

The ceremony unfolded beneath a cypress-lined alley at the château, designed with the help of floral designer Elles. A string quartet from the Conservatoire d’Avignon set the tone with romantic melodies. As Sarah walked down the aisle with her brother, emotion took over. “My heart was racing—it all felt so dreamlike,” she recalls. But seeing Scott waiting for her brought a sense of calm. “He was my anchor, my rock. In that moment, everything felt absolutely perfect.”

Following the ceremony, a bagpiper from Archi Cornemuse surprised guests, leading them into cocktail hour—another thoughtful nod to Scott’s heritage. The reception, designed with contributions from teams like Amoro and Lovely Time events, blended elegance with playful, personal touches. From custom stationery by De L’Amour Dans L’Air to rentals by Be Lounge and table settings by Options Aix-en-Provence, every detail contributed to the refined atmosphere.

Dinner by Moments Kōhī featured a shared starter experience—guests exchanged plates of passion fruit and raspberry scallop tartare or asparagus with morel and stracciatella—followed by cod with caper butter or a spring risotto for vegetarian guests, including the bride.

The evening flowed into heartfelt toasts from the best man, maid of honor, and Scott himself. “Hearing Scott speak so openly, with tears in his eyes, was one of the most meaningful moments of my life,” Sarah shares. Their first dance to “When I Look at You” by Miley Cyrus set the tone for a night that transitioned seamlessly into celebration, with music by Damien Keyes, who also performed during the welcome festivities.

As the night continued, guests gathered under glowing chandeliers by Phôs Events and toasted around a Champagne tower curated by Pépites de vin. Later, a grilled cheese truck by La Cheese Cantine arrived in the château courtyard. “After hours of dancing, nothing tasted better,” Sarah says. “I think I had three.”

For their honeymoon, Sarah and Scott traded the warmth of Provence for the untouched beauty of Norway. Nestled in a remote mountain cabin, they spent two weeks surrounded by nature. “It felt like time slowed down,” Sarah says. With endless twilight, home-cooked meals, waterfall hikes, and horseback rides through the mountains, the experience was both grounding and magical. “It was everything we had dreamed of—and more.”
