Singer Sidney Hulburd, who goes by Sidney Bird, and Kevin Doyle were high school sweethearts from their time at Deerfield Academy, and after around 10 years together, he proposed on the roof of their DUMBO apartment. After she said yes, they walked to their favorite neighborhood bar, where their best friends surprised them, waiting to celebrate.

From the jump, Sidney knew she wanted to get married at her childhood home in Phoenix, Arizona. “I wanted it to feel colorful and nostalgic, like a big fancy house party,” she shares. George Abrams Events brought her vision to life beautifully, while Jess Living was behind the lens for it all.

The mother of the bride actually selected Sidney’s floral Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. “It reminded me so much of our garden and my home,” the bride says. To complete her look, she also put on her grandmother’s sapphire and diamond earrings that complemented Kevin’s blue tuxedo.

On the morning of, Sidney got ready with beauty expert Leiah Scheibel, who gave her an elevated bridal glam look. And each member of the bridal party wore a dress color that correspond to a flower on Sidney’s dress and carried a bouquet from Angelic Grove.

On March 2, 2024, the bride walked out of the front door she’d gone through thousands of times while growing up and walked down the aisle with her father. The ceremony was sweet and emotional.

At the reception, the newlyweds shared a first dance to “Love You for a Long Time” by Maggie Rogers. Sidney, of course, jumped on stage with Bounce Band to sing to the crowd—including a doting Kevin. And later, the bride changed into her after-party look, while her bridesmaids put on sequin mini dresses with cowboy boots for their choreographed number to “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa.

The day after all the revelry, Sidney’s sister and her husband hosted a farewell brunch with a magician and face painter, so everyone could express their last best wishes to the happy couple before their headed to Hawaii and Bora Bora for their honeymoon.
