Tiffany Singh and Griffin McEvoy have the happy, college-sweetheart-type romance. “We met our freshman year of college in New Jersey,” Tiffany says. “We lived on the same floor of our dorm, met through mutual friends, and started dating about a year later.” They were together more than a decade before Griffin proposed at McEvoy Ranch, his family’s property in Petaluma, California.

The couple chose the ranch as their wedding venue, too. “Over the years, we have spent a lot of time there with family and friends, and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have our wedding at such a personal location,” Tiffany says. “We wanted the wedding to feel like an authentic representation of ourselves; we come from different backgrounds and intentionally included elements that represented our personalities, style, cultures, and families.”

Their personal aesthetic translated into an event abounding with color. “We love color, especially pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens,” Tiffany says. “The palette celebrated my Caribbean roots, and Griffin’s parents’ hippie roots; and it was an outdoor wedding, so we wanted to let the natural elements shine. Our wedding planner, Chanda Daniels, helped us pick a citrus color palette that felt like us.”

Bringing Tiffany’s dream dress to life was a group effort. “I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to wear, but I had a lot of thoughts about what I didn’t want,” she says. She found an out-of-production style on Pinterest that caught her interest. “Chanda then suggested Lace & Liberty, which makes custom dresses. I took the photo to them, and we used elements of that dress as inspiration. I then took the dress to And Something Blue, where they did alterations to the waist and perfected the sleeves.” Bridal stylist Elecia helped select accessories and finishing touches.

“I ended up wearing a white dress, but culturally, I felt like I also had the option to wear red,” Tiffany adds. So she changed it up for the reception with a colorful mesh Self-Portrait dress and bespoke mismatched earrings by Tiffany Chao at Auroro. “For makeup, it was important to feel like myself. Ninahwee BeautyMaker worked with me to create a look that wore beautifully through the day—then we amped it up and added more shimmer when I changed into the second outfit.”

Her wedding party was equally vibrant. “We assigned each person a color from our citrus palette, and they chose a dress or suit; the one rule was it had to be solid,” Tiffany says. “Ultimately, we wanted everyone to feel comfortable in their clothing, so allowing people to pick something they felt great in was important to us.”

Tiffany and Griffin’s June 3, 2023, ceremony was short but sweet, held beneath a stunning structure by Zephyr Tents adorned with whimsical florals by Le Bloomerie. The bride walked down the aisle to a Hans Zimmer melody played on steel pans as a nod to her Caribbean roots. “We felt, almost surprisingly, relaxed,” she remembers. “Neither Griff nor I are big fans of public speaking, so going into the weekend, we had some anxiety about being in front of everyone. Once we got up to the altar, the nerves disappeared. We both felt relaxed, comfortable, and happy being able to share our love in front of friends and family. . . Many of my relatives were visiting from Trinidad, and some had never been on a plane before, so I felt incredibly grateful and blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support.”

Elsewhere on the property, they designated two areas for the reception. “First, we all ate dinner at one long table among the olive trees,” Tiffany says. “Food by Catered Too! was served family style—there was salad, chicken, salmon, lots of local veggies, mashed potatoes, and wine from McEvoy Ranch.” Afterward, the party moved to a more open area for dancing and cake. “We also had a photo booth and an aura photographer,” Tiffany says. “The aura photos were colorful, and were a fun twist that also happened to match the colorful aesthetic.”

Guests watched the newlyweds swing to “Impressions of You” by Kelly Finnigan before hitting the dance floor themselves. “Our favorite part was bearing witness to all the joy around us,” Tiffany remembers. “Being able to watch all of our guests eat, dance, and laugh was truly our favorite part. Every time we glanced across the crowd, we saw our favorite people, and that felt very special.”
