Over The Moon’s Official Bachelorette Weekend Guide to Nashville

By Liz McDaniel

In recent years, Nashville has emerged as a desirable destination for girls’ weekends and bachelorette parties alike. From Broadway honky tonks and pedal taverns to drag brunch and rooftop bars with a pink oversized Dolly Parton sculpture, there are plenty of campy options for an over the top experience. But an ever growing number of luxury hotels, fine dining options, and minimalist spas proves it is possible to do a Nashville bachelorette without the matching hats and boots. To each her own, of course! And whatever type of weekend you plan, this list is a great place to start.

Where To Stay

1 Hotel Nashville

For sustainable luxury and a wellness minded approach, 1 Hotel Nashville offers a fine counterbalance to the bright lights and loud music of nearby Broadway. You’ll find locally sourced, organic produce on every menu and at the Lobby Farmstand, plus skyline views at Harriet’s Rooftop, and a variety of treatments and workouts at Bamford Wellness Spa. Plus, if you happen to have a furry mascot along for the ride, it’s pet friendly.

Four Seasons Hotel Nashville

The Four Seasons Hotel Nashville combines classic luxury and Southern Hospitality with a convenient downtown location. Pamper yourself at the spa and salon before enjoying cocktails at the rooftop pool overlooking the Cumberland River.

A recent full-renovation brings a modern touch and an award-winning culinary team led by world-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Long known for its impeccable service—plus, the staff wears uniforms designed by Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James— it’s sure to be a memorable stay for all.

Thompson Nashville

Located in the popular Gulch neighborhood, The Thompson Hotel is convenient to downtown as well as Wedgewood-Houston and 12th South. The hotel puts an urban twist on classic country with a buzzy, boutique atmosphere and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline.

Where To Eat

Folk

A lively neighborhood restaurant in East Nashville, Folk is the perfect start to an evening out. With a seasonable menu presided over by Rolf & Daughters visionary Philip Krajeck, come for the delicious and shareable pizzas and stay for the specialty cocktails and an impressive list of mocktails—for a sophisticated spin on a margarita, we recommend Lost Keys.

The Catbird Seat

For smaller groups (limited to four) with a penchant for food and planning ahead, The Catbird Seat is a true interactive culinary experience. Guests gather at a U-shape bar with a full view of the kitchen, currently helmed by chef Brian Baxter. What follows is a two-hour barrage of courses, each one more exciting than the next.

The Pancake Pantry

A Nashville institution since 1961, you can expect a line around the corner to have breakfast at this Hillsboro Village favorite. Nothing soaks up the night before quite like a stack of made-from-scratch pancakes.

Loveless Cafe

What used to be a quaint, roadside cafe has turned into something of a biscuit spectacle, complete with branded merch, on-site shops, and even a party venue. Still, it’s a classic Nashville stop and the down-home cooking is the same whether you come for brunch or “supper,” over which the famous fried chicken reigns supreme.

Mangia Nashville Ristorante

Rare is the restaurant that promises dinner and entertainment, but Mangia has both covered. Eat, drink, dance, become best friends with strangers—this immersive family style, Italian restaurant’s so-called “Weekend Feast,” involves five courses over three hours, complete with dancing and music. It will take you back to your raucous study abroad days, for better or worse.

The Butter Milk Ranch

A long brunch at The Butter Milk Ranch is an ideal start to a shopping day in Nashville’s beloved 12th South Neighborhood. This small batch bakery offers its own take on the breakfast sandwich—it’s called The Cube and it involves an impressively-shaped croissant—alongside Southern classics and a few healthier options.

Sinema

For a theatrical dining experience inside The Historic Melrose Theatre, Sinema serves contemporary American cuisine from executive Chef Shelby Briggs alongside a serious cocktail program. Exposed brick, tufted velvet, and a lounge-like feel all contribute to the glamorous night on the town vibes.

Suzy Wong’s Drag’N Brunch

If straight up brunch sounds a little, well, boring, then the Drag’N Brunch at Suzy Wong’s House Of Yum might take things up a notch. Three fabulous queens preside over one seating on Friday and two on Saturday and Sunday, so it’s easy to work into the itinerary.

Where To Drink

White Limozeen

Subtlety is not on the menu at this rooftop, flamingo-pink poolside bar. The umbrellas, the chairs, the life-sized statue of Dolly Parton, even the cocktails are pink. So, embrace it and order up a round of “Queen of the Rodeos.”

Pearl Diver

Instagram-worthy tropical vibes are reason enough to come to Pearl Diver. Add the expansive patio and exotic, flavor-filled drinks with names like “Cross Continental Romance” and “Jalisco Goldmine” and it’s a dream pre-game (or post-game) destination.

Harriet’s Rooftop

Perched atop 1 Hotel Nashville, Harriet’s Rooftop is equally promising whether you’re into people watching or skyline views. Thoughtful cocktails and an Asian-inpired menu of light bites are the perfect start to an evening out on the town.

The Stage on Broadway

If one is to assume that all things lead to lower Broadway, then The Stage is our rowdy country bar of choice. From country music legends to up and coming stars, this multi-floor, multi-act establishment helps Nashville live up to that Music City name. It’ll charm even the most skeptical bachelorette.

The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club

Recently recognized as the “Best Girl Dinner” in town by the Nashville Scene, The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club offers inventive signature cocktails alongside, you guessed it, snacks. If a long seated dinner is not your thing, sip cocktails while sampling Old Bay Popcorn, an impressive Charcuterie board, Pimento Cheese, or Miso Deviled Eggs. Reservations are recommended.

Attaboy

For smaller groups (6 and under), the East Nashville outpost of New York favorite Attaboy promises the same speakeasy vibes and creative cocktails. If your friends tend to like their drinks bespoke, this is your place.

What To Do

Brave Broadway

No trip to Nashville would be complete without a stroll down Broadway and a visit to one, or a few, of its famed honky tonks. To pedal-tavern or not to pedal-tavern? That is up to you. But we do recommend popping into Robert’s, The Stage, or Tootsie’s for that dive bar with live music fix.

Choose between massages and facials, or book a two hour bath house session for up to ten people. Top it all off with blowouts before your night on the town.
