If you’re one of those people who makes a point of making a pitstop at the Ladurée bakery whenever you’re in Paris or New York, for a macaroon and an Instagram, then we have some good news for you: The famed French patisserie is collaborating with dress designer Vera Wang on wedding-themed desserts.
Starting this month, the new “Vera Wang Pour Ladurée” collection offers couples about to tie the knot a coconut crème Chantilly macaron and a mango and coconut wedding cake, both inspired by Wang’s popular bridal designs. “I was thrilled to be able to collaborate with Ladurée on designing a bespoke wedding cake inspired by one of my gowns,” Wang said. “A coconut chantilly macaron and a mango flavored coconut wedding cake were heaven at first bite for me. I could not imagine a more delicate or sophisticated creation to grace any couple’s celebration.”
For those who live in the city, you’ll be able to see Vera Wang Pour Ladurée wedding cakes on display at Ladurée’s Madison Avenue and SoHo locations until January 26th. The special edition cakes will be available for order throughout the year at [email protected]. Cakes start at $20 (for small individual sizes) and run up to $20 per guest (for a minimum of 40 guests). Meanwhile, the coconut crème macarons are available in four sizes, ranging from $24 – $425. Perhaps Vera Wang’s confections will put an end to the naked wedding cake’s long reign as the preferred party dessert of late—only time and guests’ sweet tooths will tell.
