Our Latest Obsession? A Little Shop in the West Village

Annelore

We like to think we know New York’s West Village like the back of our hand. After living downtown for years, we’ve been in and out of almost every boutique between Bleecker Street and Broadway. So when we stumbled upon Annelore one afternoon, we were surprised. To be fair, the shop, which is located at 636 Hudson Street, is teeny tiny so it’s easy to overlook. (There’s another storefront on Jay Street in Tribeca that also serves as the brand’s showroom.) The wrap dress below was on display in the window and practically begged us to come inside. There, we found two racks with more party dresses, chic pantsuits, and feminine blouses—all designed by Juliana Cho.

Annelore Wrap Dress

Fifteen years ago, Cho left her job at Catherine Malandrino to start her own line. “I’m always inspired to make romantic dresses that are sexy but not overtly so,” she says. “Our dresses are great for special occasions because our original prints and limited production assure you’ll be wearing something unique and not mass produced.” While Cho has designed wedding gowns for a few of her best customers, she’s yet to try her hand at bridesmaids’ dresses. Can someone please commission her asap?!
