The 10 Best Dressed at the 2019 Met Gala

By Patricia Garcia

What is camp? That was the question in the weeks leading up to the 2019 Met Gala, where this year’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” reportedly caused some confusion amongst the celebrity guests. According to Vogue’s Editor in Chief and hostess of the evening, Anna Wintour, camp is “about self-expression and individuality,” and that at tonight’s gala, she was hoping to see “something that is outrageous, that is fun, [and] tongue in cheek.” Well, she certainly got exactly what she wished for, as look after look that rolled up on the red carpet did not disappoint. Sure, some might have taken the theme a tad too far—Katy Perry, one chandelier would’ve been enough. While others ignored the theme entirely—we’re talking about you, Gisele. But the true fashion icons managed to pull off the hardest of jobs, nailing the required campiness of the night while also managing to look stylish. Below, our top ten best dressed looks from the 2019 Met Gala.
