What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

To celebrate the launch of the Rosewater House x Over The Moon capsule collection, Co-founder and CEO Leily Amirsardary Ahmed is looking back on her wedding to Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Whoop, and making her very own Over The Moon Dream Registry. She and Will first met at a party at his alma mater, Harvard. “He actually picked on me ‘as the only person who didn’t look like she was having a good time at this party,'” she laughs.

Just two months before launching her and her mother’s womenswear line Rosewater House, Leily and Will tied the knot in early September of 2018 in a multi-day wedding in Cannes, France. They welcomed everyone to the destination with a rehearsal dinner at Bâoli Cannes, where the bride wore a dress by Balmain. The next night’s welcome party at La Plage Le Majestic, Leily donned a custom dress, while Will looked handsome in a Zegna suit. For the Persian Aghd Ceremony at Carlton Cannes, the bride wore a beautiful Berta dress and custom veil that her mother designed, which is now one of her most prized possessions.

Today, Leily and Will live in the Back Bay of Boston. “I never thought Boston would feel like home, but I now miss it every time I’m away for a few days,” she shares. They just completed renovations on their house last year, and Leily’s friend, Isabel Brewster, helped her hone in on the exact design. “She described my style as neutral maximalist with a love for big focal points. I grew up in Paris, so it’s impossible to not incorporate Parisian flair into my spaces.”

“I would say my aesthetic varies seasonally when it comes to fashion but is more consistent when it comes to interiors and décor,” Leily shares. Overall, she says her style mixes the old and the new and plays with layering and textures. “We literally sourced half our furniture on 1stDibs while the other half was custom made.”

For Leily’s Dream Registry, she highlighted a lot of special dinnerware and tabletop pieces like the colorful Ginori plates and Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage collection. Of the latter, she says, “They are timeless and mix and match perfectly with pink for a more feminine setup and with the beige for a chic neutral tablescape.”

Bowls are also important to Leily—for serving large salads at dinner parties and smaller sides. “I was born in Iran, and Persian food is still my favorite,” she shares. “I always need to have small bowls filled with pickled vegetables, chutneys, and other condiments like mustard and sumac, easily accessible at a dinner table for my guests to season their food as they please!” And don’t forget two pitchers—one for sparkling water, and one for still.

To couples making their own Over The Moon Registries now, Leily advises, “If you host and entertain a lot, prioritize a complete set of China and don’t forget serving pieces—you can never have enough. I’d suggest buying serving pieces in twos for a more aesthetically pleasing set-up. If you don’t host a lot, maybe don’t stress too much about fancy China, but focus on things you would use or see daily, so that you think of your friends and family who gifted you those more often.”

And finally, Leily says, “If you are moving into or designing a new space post-wedding, you might want to wait to select your final ‘investment pieces’ to make sure you have your palette and aesthetic down.” And why not add a few Rosewater House x Over The Moon pieces to your registry for that honeymoon wardrobe?
