What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

Zoë de Givenchy’s namesake lifestyle brand Z.d.G. makes its foray into bathroom suite accessories with the newly-launched Over The Moon Exclusive Les Bleuets Tumbler & Petite Plate, inspired by the brand’s best-selling dinnerware collection. To celebrate this exciting collaboration, we’re looking back at the founder’s wedding and diving into what she would add to her Over The Moon Registry today.

Zoë first encountered Oliver de Givenchy—the nephew of famed designer Hubert—when he followed her out of a friend’s wedding and into a cab headed to Annabel’s in London. “We danced all night, closing every club in London,” Zoë remembers. “Despite dozens of friends in common, we had never actually met until that night. And looking back it was I think, love at first sight.”

After a year-and-a-half together, Oliver proposed in Rome. In 2011, the pair wed on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where Zoë walked down the aisle in a beautiful Calais lace dress by her friends of Clements Ribeiro. More than a decade later, the pair have welcomed two adorable children, Louis and Inès, and made the move to The Golden State.

Zoë describes her personal aesthetic as “classic with a twist” and says that she’s “a traditionalist at heart.” When it comes to decorating her spaces, she stresses the importance of having a point of view. “I love a home that feels true to where it is,” she says. “I consider how I would like to live in it, how every room will be used and by whom and furnish it accordingly. In California for example, our home in Malibu invites you to come in from the beach with sandy feet or a wet dog and feel entirely at ease on a denim slip covered sofa. In town, with a view over Los Angeles framed by leaning palm trees, life feels more urbane and glamorous, so I like to create a feeling of serenity away from the lights of the city below; achieved by a mix of old and new furniture and pictures, color, great light, and symmetry—always with piles of wonderful books, fresh flowers and abundant hospitality.”

Who does a Givenchy turn to for inspiration? “I am fortunate to have friends who are some of the greats of design; each possessing tremendous taste and deep historical knowledge, among them: Tom Scheerer, Pierre Yovanovitch, David Netto, and Michael Smith,” Zoë says. “I adore them all and their books and feedback are constant points of reference for me. The true original whose work I reference most often is of course Hubert de Givenchy, whose education, eye, and art de vivre remains today for me, unrivaled.”

Aside from Z.d.G.’s latest Over The Moon exclusives, Zoë’s Dream Registry focused on items with quality and provenance. Waterford crystal, the finest and most classic crystal, and Z.d.G.’s hand-painted faience plates were her must-adds for a married life well and beautifully-lived.

The lifestyle brand founder leaves us with an important tip for couples currently making their own Over The Moon Registries: “Now is the moment to choose the best, the beautiful, and the classic. Let your friends and family club together, if necessary, to buy the finest foundational collections for you—the kind you can build your life upon.”
