Rendez-vous in Paris

“Funnily enough, we met at a wedding,” fashion designer Aline Rousseaux says of how she first encountered investment banker Pablo Mangueira. After three years together, he surprised Aline with a fully-planned proposal in Paris. She walked into the Shangri-La, under the impression that she was attending a fashion event for African designers. A few fake attendees directed her toward the terrace. When she stepped out, Aline found Pablo on one knee amongst a display of candles and roses with the Eiffel Tower behind them.

Once engaged, the bride-to-be always knew she wanted a summer wedding in a unique locale. Château de Chantilly was the right Bridgerton-esque venue that Aline had hoped for. To help bring their vision to life, they brought in Rendez-vous in Paris. Studio French Blue set the tone for the weekend with a polished invitation suite.

The day prior to the large church wedding, Aline wore a white mini dress by Brandon Maxwell to her civil ceremony. Pablo dressed in a Tom Ford tuxedo—a Brioni made-to-measure look awaited him the next day. And once legally wed, the pair hosted a welcome party on a boat and listened to heartfelt toasts by their two best friends, godmothers, and Aline’s brother-in-law.

For the religious ceremony, Aline fell in love with the last of three Oscar de la Renta dresses she tried on —a floral-adorned strapless design with a full skirt. She completed her bridal look with pearl Jimmy Choo heels. And on the day-of, makeup artist Lindzy and hairstylist Ciara Costenoble made sure the bride looked and felt like the best version of herself.

On August 26, 2023, the couple wed at the Catholic church in Chantilly, decorated with a white floral arch by Exquise Design. A gospel choir serenaded everyone, making the whole service feel that much more spiritual and grand. After witnessing the exchanging of the couple’s vows, guests enjoyed cocktails in the château’s garden.

Everyone was whisked away in cars to Les Grandes Ecuries for dinner. The newlyweds made their grand entrance and immediately went into their first dance to “I Want You Around” by Snoh Aalegra with the band, Shine.

Once everyone had their fill of delicious French cuisine by Chefs et Receptions, Aline changed into a white floral dress by Ukrainian brand Jamemme to cut the wedding cake from Lyna Lyna Cookies. The fun then began on the dance floor—and didn’t let up until 4:00 a.m. with the deejay, Fabio Chantre. Aline and Pablo continued fête-ing in their hotel room with friends before ending the most magical day.
