Antonia Reynolds and Ryan Rabideau’s paths first crossed while they were living in different states. They were working for the same startup, but she was based in Boise, and he was in Portland. “Throughout a couple of years, a genuine friendship developed,” Toni remembers. “The turning point came when I made the move to Portland, bringing us into the same city.” There, the friendship turned romantic (though they dated a full year before letting coworkers know).

Five years—plus two dogs and a new home—later, in April 2022, Ryan proposed in Kauai, Hawaii. They knew immediately where they’d look for a wedding venue. “For years, we dreamt of getting married in Italy, and when the time came, Amalfi, with its romantic, picturesque, and breathtaking beauty, stood out as the perfect choice,” Toni says. “Discovering Hotel Santa Caterina left us in awe. Its proximity to the water, charming hotel, and vintage, timeless aesthetic captured our hearts.” They opted for a terracotta and forest green color palette to play up, rather than distract from, the natural beauty.

That timeless vintage vibe was present in other elements of the wedding, too, including Toni’s fashion choices. (Her search for the right dress, she admits, was exhaustive; She hit six different bridal salons across two cities.) “I wore a stunning Sarah Seven dress on my special day,” Toni says. “The allure of Sarah Seven’s designs, marked by their romantic, classic, and timeless qualities, perfectly aligned with my vision of a bride. I was drawn to the vintage charm of the dress and appreciated its lightness.” She paired it with gloves, a veil, and Ferragamo heels in a pinkish shade of terracotta. “My jewelry was all vintage and gold, including rings with sentimental value, a pearl, and a vintage diamond necklace.”

Later in the night, the bride donned a second look that kept to the retro aesthetic. “I changed into a fringe-embellished, fully sequined cape and silk pants,” she says. “The cape exuded vintage Hollywood vibes, and by the end of the night, I felt like a dazzling disco ball—perhaps aided by a bit of Champagne.”

The groom stayed on theme in a custom forest green suit by Indochino, and the bridesmaids embraced their individuality in dresses that matched the palette: rich brown, orangey-red, green, and terracotta. “The men’s outfits were similarly diverse, creating a harmonious and visually appealing ensemble,” Toni says.

On June 30, 2023, Toni and Ryan said, “I do,” in front of an intimate group of 40 loved ones, surrounded by whimsical yet earthy florals by Ravello Wedding Flowers.Toni chose to walk down the aisle alone, preceded by her parents. “As a fiercely independent woman, it was a fitting choice for this special day,” she says. “My walk down the aisle was accompanied by the emotionally stirring song ‘Work’ by Charlotte Day Wilson, a choice that left not a dry eye in the audience.”

The bride’s brother, Brooks, officiated, and the couple exchanged vows. “Time seemed to stand still yet rush by simultaneously,” the bride remembers. “We decided to interrupt the proceedings, asking the orchestra to play The Cranberries’s ‘Dreams’ in the middle of the ceremony. This provided the perfect interlude to absorb the moment, gaze upon our guests, and appreciate their presence. It was a genuinely emotional pause.”

Emotions were high—but then, it was time to party. “The reception was nothing short of breathtaking, situated right by the water,” Toni says. Guests grabbed peach bellinis before sitting down to dinner, and as the sun went down, vibrantly hued lighting lit up the space. “In a departure from tradition, we opted against toasts, as we tend to be private individuals,” Toni says. “Instead, we invited those who wished to convey their sentiments to write us notes, adding a personal touch to the celebration.”

A live band got guests out of their seats as the couple poured out a Champagne tower and sliced into a traditional Italian cake with berries and cream. “The band added an extra layer of excitement, keeping the vibes lively and inspiring everyone to dance, laugh, and enjoy the festivities,” Toni says. “The result? Amazing photos capturing me in my sequin cape—making the entire experience incredibly fun.”

Post-party, the newlyweds took a dip in their hotel suite’s private pool and, a few days later, jetted down to Sicily for a honeymoon. While there, they ran into many friends and wedding guests who had also made the trip, making for additional mini-celebrations all week long.
