By Cathleen Freedman

From the first official scrupulously crafted couple’s post to their 15th-anniversary trip story highlight reel, social media has changed the way we learn about milestones in the stars’ relationships. In 2022, household names like Simone Biles and Sofia Richie took to Instagram for their post-proposal ring reveals. All of these betrothal announcements are a prelude to the glossy wedding write-ups that will one day appear in Vogue and Over The Moon. Below is a list of 2023’s most anticipated weddings. Invite, unfortunately, not included.

Anthony De La Torre proposed to actress Lana Condor with an oval-cut diamond and their dogs’ approval. He designed the ring with Paris Jewellers Canada, a Vietnamese female-owned company. This attention to detail touched his bride-to-be. Condor notes, “The fact he knew how important it was to me that he’d collaborate [with a] Vietnamese company to help design my ring is a testament to just how truly thoughtful he always is.”

Actors Ben Platt and Noah Galvin played the same role in the Broadway production of Dear Evan Hansen, and now, they will star opposite of each other at the altar. Their role? Dashing groom one and two. After Galvin accepted the proposal, he admitted that the first thing he uttered was “Yeehaw!” and then spent the rest of the evening crying happy tears. Let’s just imagine how incredible that reception setlist is going to be . . . We predict Sondheim show tunes and a piano sing-a-long that will rival a night at Marie’s Crisis.

The Grey’s Anatomy star is engaged to Australian farmer Andrew Nixon. While most celebrities take to an Instagram carousel post to share their happy news, Walsh accidentally announced it during an Instagram Live with actress Amy Brenneman. She said, and we quote, “Here comes the jungle cat. That is my fiancé,” as Nixon walked by the frame. After realizing what she told viewers, she revealed her engagement ring-studded left hand to the camera.

Laura Harrier and Sam Jarou

French freelance fashion consultant Sam Jarou swept actress Laura Harrier off her feet with a perfect Parisian proposal. It was low-key and chic, which is precisely what Harrier wanted. In September 2022, she admitted she was in no rush to plan the nuptials but would think about it soon enough.
