Julia Berolzheimer knows a thing or two about choosing the best of everything—from fashion and beauty to travel and home decor. So in celebration of the anniversary of her marriage to her partner in life and business, Thomas Berolzheimer, on this day eleven years ago, we asked Julia to curate a Dream Registry that reflects her infinitely covetable take on traditional style.
Julia’s passion for aesthetics and curation began as a creative outlet with a blog called Gal Meets Glam that she started while she was still in college—and quickly grew into a full-time job for she and Thomas, with their romantic and professional lives blooming side by side. They married in Lido, California, in 2012 and moved to Charleston, SC, and now have two daughters, Clemmie and Goldie.
The blog has become Julia’s eponymous website and the family business. And, in addition to her role as the internet’s de facto queen of curation, Julia has turned her attention to creating beautiful things like her own lifestyle brand called Parterre that she founded with dear friend Hanna Seabrook as well as collaborations with a long list of brands you likely know and love (most recently Pottery Barn and Business & Pleasure Co.).
With all of this inspiration in our feeds and our shopping carts, we couldn’t resist asking Julia what advice she might give to a couple setting out to create a registry, a world, and a life that is a true and timeless reflection of their own personal style. Her mantra? “You really can’t go wrong with the classics,” she explains. “Your style and taste, especially in home, will change as you move and grow through life.” And, when it comes to finding true love, a common piece of advice is “You’ll just know.” The same seems to be true for honing in on the perfect pieces for your registry.
“Most of the time, if it’s not a ‘yes’ right away, then it’s most likely a pass,” she admits. “If it’s vintage, antique, or a one-of-a-kind, I go with my gut, and I usually know right away!”
While Julia and Thomas celebrate their anniversary over dinner at Sorelle in Charleston, we’ll be toasting the happy couple and shopping the dreamiest of OTM Dream Registries.
