Kade Speiser had just moved from Michigan to Los Angeles and was at his apartment’s pool party, when he met model, content creator, and photographer Mackenzie Altig, who was friends with his new neighbor. The two hit it off, and after four years together, Kade romantically proposed to Mackenzie on top of the Dolomites after a sunrise helicopter tour.

Once engaged, the couple decided to host their wedding at Mackenzie’s childhood home in Seattle. All of her three older siblings had celebrated their nuptials there, so it was only natural to follow suit as the youngest child. Steve Moore of Sinclair & Moore led the planning and design, going off of a general garden theme and turning the day into something truly magical with florist Oak and the Owl. Ryan Ray was behind the lens, capturing every special moment, while Peyton Frank filmed video. Plume Calligraphy set the tone for the weekend with a beautiful invitation suite.

To walk down the aisle, the groom wanted his look to be timeless and avoided anything too trendy. He landed on a classic Isaia tuxedo and Tom Ford shoes.

Mackenzie worked with local Seattle designer Luly Yang on her wedding day looks. “I first met Luly when I was 17-years-old walking in her runway shows,” the bride explains. “I always admired her creativity, and when I walked into her boutique to try on wedding gowns she made me feel so at home.” Luly listened to Mackenzie’s desire to show off her figure in something elegant for the ceremony and designed a beautiful strapless dress with expertly-placed draping.

On the day-of, the bride got ready with Erin Skippley, who made her look and feel like the best version of herself. Bridesmaids complemented Mackenzie elegantly, also dressed in custom Luly Yang.

“For the second look, it was a beautiful accident,” Mackenzie says. “It was one of my last fittings, and I saw it hanging up and asked if I could try it on.” The floral halter dress was perfect for the reception and twirling in during the first dance. At the end of the night, the bride changed into a low back dress that Luly had surprised her with by making it into a mini.

On September 2, 2023, Mackenzie walked down the aisle in a local church to meet Kade at the altar. “I was excited—a little nervous not to mess anything up—but everything went perfectly,” the groom says of the ceremony. “Mackenzie and I were talking and laughing the whole time together, so it was really special.”

Once announced as officially married, the newlyweds drove off in a red convertible and rejoined their guests at the bride’s family home. Everyone enjoyed decadent pasta from John Howie Catering paired with the bride’s family’s delicious wines, as they listened to heartfelt speeches. The couple cut their tiered Ballerina Baker cake to conclude dinner and start the dancing.

Mackenzie and Kade shared a first dance to “At Last” by Etta James, and later on, Mackenzie even graced her guests with a live musical performance with her brother. The party raged on with Mr. Chris Norton and his band and even turned into a silent disco. “We stayed until the very end,” Mackenzie states. “We were proudly the last ones on the dance floor and took the last moments all alone in the tent to appreciate the beauty and reminisce on how amazing the night was. We almost slept underneath the incredible flower arch that Steve designed.”
