Content creator Mia Amabile originally ghosted Alex Rudolph, owner of Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar, after they matched on Raya and he asked for her number. A little while later, Alex’s brother-in-law showed him the Instagram of a girl he had met at a Super Bowl party, thinking that she was exactly Alex’s type. Of course, it was Mia.
Mia and Alex virtually reconnected, but she still played it very cool. After several attempts at meeting in person, she finally brought a friend to join him and his buddy at a Heat game. “We rolled up to the game at halftime, and I locked eyes with him and was like, ‘OMG he’s hot and TALL!!!’ I don’t want to be cheesy and say I knew he was special as soon as I saw him, but I really did and he feels the same,” Mia smiles. “After the Heat game, we went to his buddy’s apartment and then ended up at E11even to see Ja Rule—very romantic first date! But now Ja Rule is frequently playing in our house; no complaints there!”
After a year-and-a-half together, Alex got down on one knee. . . twice. While they were in St. Barths, he convinced her that the Rosewood Le Guanahani organized a private welcome picnic for them—as they do with all of their guests on Fridays. She bought it, and when Alex asked to take a photo of her, he kneeled down. “I am a MAJOR crier, so the waterworks started instantly,” Mia remembers. “He said the most beautiful things to me, which will have to stay between him and me. He reached into the bag to get the ring and found AN EMPTY RING BOX. I have never seen someone turn more pale; he looked like a ghost. We have NEVER laughed harder in our lives.”
When leaving for the picnic, Alex had accidentally grabbed the cardboard outbox instead of the actual one carrying the ring. He sprinted back to the room, and quickly returned to bended knee.
The Miami-based couple have booked Borgo Egnazia in Puglia for May 24, 2025 and ahead of tying the knot, the bride-to-be is sharing her Over The Moon Dream Registry.
Mia describes her aesthetic as “very neutral and timeless.” However, she moved into her fiancé’s place, which he purchased fully furnished in a modern style, and she prefers the more Mediterranean-style popular in the area. “What I’ve learned through living together and the registry process is to get pieces that are timeless and can travel from home to home.”
“Honestly, my Dream Registry is stocking my kitchen with all of the best appliances, hosting needs, and china,” Mia shares. With a love of cooking and baking (and more recently, hosting), the bride-to-be highlighted Cabana’s speckled dinnerware pieces—which is also made in the same region where Mia will say I do. “I will actually be using these types of ceramics for our welcome night during our wedding weekend!”
Speaking of ceramics, Mia also added the monogram plates by Laboratorio Paravicini. “I mean do I even need an explanation? Those plates might be the prettiest I’ve ever seen and who doesn’t love something personalized?” Mia gushes.
Moving onto the kitchen, Mia’s dream is to own a full Staub cookware set. “I have one Staub Dutch oven, and I use it weekly to bake homemade bread,” she reveals. “I would love to add more pieces to my collection especially because Staub pieces will last a lifetime and are basically investment pieces.”
The content creator leaves us with her key advice to those currently making their Over The Moon Registries: “I would say for the most part, you should get what you need, not what you want. It’s so nice to have little mementos and special items throughout your home to remind you of this season of life, but for me, the most valuable items are the items that will get use and not ones that will just collect dust. Obviously, fine china isn’t getting used every day, but not only will it get used on occasion, it can also be put on display and used as decor. Again, I focused our registry on the kitchen because my life revolves around cooking—and eating—so I’d highly recommend focusing your registry on your daily life instead of just asking for sparkly things; although, sparkly things are fun too!”
