When it came time to propose, Nicholas Marco booked a staycation at an idyllic beachside hideaway and swiftly prompted Michael Masco out and about for the afternoon. Meanwhile, Nick filled the balcony with bright florals and placed several stations of handwritten letters along the path Mike eventually trailed to find him on one knee.
After their scenic—and equally sentimental—engagement in New Jersey, Nick and Mike turned to Copper & Chloe to plan a wedding amidst the changing of the seasons at Cedar Lakes Estate—a grand family affair where the two could celebrate their nuptials over the course of a weekend. “We are all about creating experiences, so we chose a venue that would allow for multiple days of outdoor activities [and] scenic dinners,” Mike says. Magi Fisher stood behind the lens during every event, capturing each special moment. Wile Events beautifully handled event design curating everything from florals, drapery and stationery.
“A friend of ours has a connection with Dolce & Gabbana that designed our suits that were custom-made down to a special label and fabric. Each night featured a different D&G ‘look,’ and each day leveled up the attire,” Mike says of the pair’s tailored wedding wardrobe. “We wanted to create a look that wow-ed each day. Our guests were also given the same instructions.” On the day-of, the black-tie affair men of the wedding party donned black tuxedos, while the women stunned in silver, gold, and white dresses, differing in designer and style.
It all began lakeside with a softly lit soiree in the garden surrounded by pastel florals, flowing wines, and delicate fare. The night entailed shared toasts and countless laughs. On the following afternoon, Nick and Mike spent the day in the water, boating, swimming and soaking it all in.
On September 23, 2023, guests gathered beneath sparkling chandeliers in what could only be described as an immaculate escape. Hand curated arrangements of coppers, emeralds, and rustic hues lined the aisle and ultimately cascaded into an arch at the head of the scene. “Our ceremony location was our rain option, so we were a bit disappointed we could not get married by the lake. However, once we saw what our florist and her team, Wile Events, did we were blown away. Our guests thought it was the plan all along!” Nick notes. Once the grooms—dressed expertly in dapper corduroys and velvets—exchanged vows and sealed it all with a kiss, a choir of cheers and applause accompanied them as they exited the ceremony as newlyweds.
“The reception was in a fully decorated barn where we added numerous chandeliers and lighting centerpieces to create a sexy glamorous vibe,” Mike shares. Dripping florals covered the ceiling and the couple’s initials decorated the dance floor.
Nick and Mike danced to Clinton Kane’s “I Guess I’m in Love,” performed beautifully by The Voice winner, Corey Ward. Following dinner, the revelry began. “Our favorite part of the reception was Corey Ward, who kept the energy so high that not a person was sitting in their seat the entire night. We even extended the wedding by thirty minutes as no one wanted to leave!” Mike exclaims. The party went on all night long, and everyone ultimately ended up in the tree house for a festive “dancing through the decades” after-party. The newlyweds reveled in every second, spending the night singing through the disco hits of the ’70s until modern remixes rang in the celebrations around 2:30 a.m.
