Content creator and bride-to-be Natalie Hudson Simkins and Arcline Investment Management Principal William Christopher Conway Schatzman first met at a University of Georgia football game. 10 months later, he was down on one knee in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. “I didn’t really ever believe in ‘when you know you know,’ but we definitely knew very early on that we were going to get married, so I guess you could say I believe in that saying now!” Natalie smiles.
The NYC-based pair had enjoyed a boat day before getting engaged. “I knew it was coming, but I thought it would be a few weeks later when both of our families were visiting us in NYC, so I was completely caught off guard,” Natalie explains. “I was literally in my bathing suit, and my hair was a mess. I had never been more shocked. I even had chipped gray nail polish and no better outfit to change into—if that tells you how surprised I was!”
Once engaged, Natalie exclusively went to LEIN for her wedding wardrobe. And ahead of Natalie and Christopher’s walk down the aisle on November 15th at Saint Thomas Church in New York City, followed by a reception at The University Club, the pair will finally move in together. In anticipation of these exciting life events, Natalie is sharing her Over The Moon Dream Registry:
Nice pots and pans were the first things added. “I love cooking, but they’re not something I would typically buy for myself,” Natalie shares. “I also chose beautiful picture frames for our new wedding photos and plenty of hosting essentials—wine glasses, fun cocktail napkins—because I love entertaining. Even if it’s just a couple of friends over for a glass of wine, I want our NYC apartment to feel as warm and inviting as possible.”
Natalie describes her own aesthetic as “effortlessly put-together—classic but not boring, polished yet approachable.” She adds, “I love neutral tones, clean lines, and pieces that feel timeless but still have a modern edge. Whether I’m dressing up or keeping it casual, I aim for a look that feels chic without trying too hard. It’s all about balance—elevated but comfortable, sophisticated but easygoing.”
When it comes to decorating her living spaces, Natalie loves to mix the old with the new. “My mom has an antique business, so she’s helped me find some truly beautiful old pieces that anchor a room—pieces I know I’ll have forever,” she shares. “From there, I like to incorporate modern elements, whether it’s my couch, artwork, or decor. I’m a neutrals girl, so I gravitate toward beiges, creams, and whites, which pair beautifully with rich, dark wood furniture!” Other inspiration for the bride-to-be includes Aerin Lauder’s book, Entertaining Beautifully.
Natalie leaves with important advice for other couples creating their Over The Moon Registries: “Think long-term and prioritize quality over quantity. It’s easy to get caught up in trendy items, but focus on pieces that will stand the test of time—like high-quality cookware, timeless dinnerware, and durable linens. Also, consider your lifestyle—do you love hosting? Cooking? Traveling? Tailor your registry to fit your actual needs and habits.”
