Peter James Hoar, television director of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy and Daredevil, and Richard James Makin, food editor of Wicked Healthy, got engaged on Valentine’s Day in Stockholm. For their November wedding, they found their venue, Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, London, via Instagram.

Both the grooms had their custom suits made by P. Johnson and agreed on choosing fabrics with “California colors.” Then on November 3rd, 2018, Peter and Richard were wed in a “simple, personal, and loving” ceremony with beautiful florals, by their friends at Blooming Haus, surrounding them. Peter remembers he was “overwhelmed but so happy” during the service. 

After being announced as a married couple, the newlyweds joined their guests for a vegetarian dinner, served buffet-style and followed by a “show-stopping chocolate pudding” made by The Great British Bake Off-winner Edd Kimber. The grooms both made humorous and emotional speeches for each other and then took to the dance floor for their first dance to “Somebody Made for Me” by Emmet Rhodes. 

The remainder of the evening was spent drinking and dancing merrily. The two haven’t gone on their honeymoon yet, but we’re sure after this year, they’ll be headed somewhere amazing.
