Stone Cold Fox Designer Cydney Morris Spills Her Wedding Beauty Secrets

By Lindsay Kindelon

After Cydney Morris delightedly exclaimed, “Yes!” to Australian Ollie Edwards’s proposal last spring at Malibu’s Surfrider Hotel, the designer and founder of cool-girl label Stone Cold Fox swiftly began dreaming up her wedding day look, while simultaneously bringing into focus the beauty and wellness measures that would help achieve her vision.

From the start, she believed in doing little treatments over a period of time instead of anything too drastic all at once. “Pretty much since the day I got engaged I started to do things once a month for my skin,” reveals Cydney.

Her goal was simple: “I just wanted to be the best version of myself.” As for her inspiration? “Thick, full, sixties style hair with glowing skin—very much a combination of Claudia Schiffer and Brigitte Bardot,” she notes, before adding, “at least that’s what I tried for!” The end result was indeed imbued with the same trademark ethos that threads through everything the designer does and creates: ultra-feminine with an air of nostalgia.

Here, she shares the treatments, health steps, and swear-by-them products she used leading up to her wedding in Sydney—from detoxing cleanses to her newly discovered favorite skincare savior, microneedling.

Health and Wellness

Boxing / Hot Yoga
“Six to seven days a week. If I needed to give my body a break, I would go on a long walk or do an infrared sauna. I’ve always worked out, but three months before my wedding I really took it as an every single day challenge.”

We Care Spa
“I went to center myself, check out, and write my vows. It really kick started getting on the healthy track to achieve my goals. It feels so good to reset your system, get out of town, and have some solitude. I learned so much here—I wish I could have stayed for the longer session.”

No Drinking / No Coffee
I didn’t have either (and I usually have a lot) for two months before my wedding. Make sure you plan your bachelorette way beforehand! The whites of my eyes and my teeth really benefited from this movement and I noticed the energy benefits from eating the right foods (but I was really bored!).”

Skin and Hair

PRP Micro Needling
A minimally invasive treatment that creates microscopic punctures in the skin, which in turn does everything from minimizing scars to reducing cellulite to promoting hair growth. “I did this once a month for seven months at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group by Dr. Pay. I loved it so much I will most likely continue to do it now about five times a year. I have always had a hard time with my pores but don’t like the look of filler and just wanted to be glowing. This treatment tightened my skin, eliminated the size of my pores, and added a beautiful glow that grew the more and more I did the treatments. I had really bad acne when I was younger and this is just so healing for the skin and natural.”

Hydrafacial
A deep cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating facial done with a hydradermabrasion device, which moisturizes, brightens, and plumps skin. “Before I jumped on the plane, this was great for clearing my skin out and achieving that glow. This is a must the day before you walk down the aisle.”

Forma
A skin tightening treatment that stimulates collage formation and improves elasticity. “Do this a month before the wedding. Great for tightening and a natural look.”

Chest and Hand Peels
“I do these two times a year whether I’m getting married or not; sadly not just your face shows your age and you have to care for your chest area, too. All those summers start to catch up with you.”

Tattoo Removal
“I have been working on mine slowly over the last two years, but since I got engaged I really tried to do it as much as possible. I still have some left (I had a back tattoo from when I turned eighteen) so my amazing makeup artist covered the last bits of it for me with makeup. I don’t have a problem with tattoos, I just maybe should have chosen something a bit smaller.”

Nine Zero One Salon
“I love photos of all the girls back in the day and I just tried to replicate that timeless feminine look—Lindsey Neavitt from Nine Zero One salon helped me achieve that.”

Sun
“I’m very good about not getting in the sun and always wear a hat. I did lay out a couple times right before the wedding because I’m not into spray tanning.”
