A lot has happened since the Forevermark x Micaela bridal collection of engagement rings and wedding bands was first released in September 2020. The celebrity stylist—responsible for the iconic red carpet looks worn by Meryl Streep and Lupita Nyong’o, to name a few—got her marriage license in Miami and then eloped to St. Barths in August. While we wait for her 2022 wedding, which was postponed at least three times due to the pandemic, De Beers Forevermark threw Micaela Erlanger a spectacular collection launch and bridal shower celebration at Veranda this Wednesday in New York City.
The collection of seven engagement rings and four wedding bands—exclusively set in platinum—was on display at the event, and guests had fun ogling and Instagramming two new styles: the cushion band and the emerald band. “I’m most excited about the wedding bands that are finally here!” Erlanger gushed. “You can even do a band as an engagement ring, and that is a very modern way to wear jewelry in my opinion.”
Halfway through cocktail hour, Micaela’s husband, restaurateur Mac Osborne, arrived, reminding everyone of the inherent symbolism of true love that was embedded in the engagement rings that surrounded them. The band that Micaela is planning to wear next April, she designed herself—and it influenced the other De Beers Forevermark rings. “I wanted to design a collection that was inspired by modern, timeless, classic pieces that were influenced by my experience working with [De Beers] Forevermark and De Beers in the red carpet space, as a celebrity stylist, but really put my spin on it and make sure it was something personal for any type of bride,” Micaela said. “There’s something for everybody.”
As party-goers enjoyed a delicious dinner by Veranda’s executive chef George Mendes, Micaela made a toast to the evening. “This is two-years-plus in the making,” she told the crowd of iPhone-wielding guests. “This entire collection was inspired by my work as a stylist, because I felt like walking down the aisle was the closest thing to walking down the red carpet. And as a bride-to-be, it felt so organic to collaborate with such an incredible brand like [De Beers] Forevermark. It’s very special and very dear to my heart.”
Indeed, Micaela knew what she was looking for in an engagement ring for quite some time. Having been around truly incredible jewelry during her many years as a stylist to Hollywood’s brightest stars, she had a clearer vision compared to most going ring shopping for the first time.
