Jenny Packham Spring 2021 “The Lockdown Collection”

By Shayna Seid

It’s a known fact that fashion is a form of escapism—we can find new worlds within layers of colorful tulle or bold accessories—and that notion has influenced Jenny Packham’s latest collection, which was redesigned four times for a more lively and voluminous design at each go. “Harsh realities often give creatives new powers to find imaginative means of escape,” Jenny says. “Combine this desire with the mother of all clear outs and the discovery of 20 years of hidden sparkle, beaded designs, trims and yet to be unrolled fabrics, and you have a collection made from regenerated ideas created with a fresh outlook, spun together with hope and optimism.”

And as a designer whose pieces have been seen on royalty and brides around the world, it’s clearly understood that special occasions are shifting and that means finding joy in what we have now—even Princess Beatrice had to reschedule, so we can too! In this new selection, we find optimism in floral embellishments on tulle, polka dots, happy and bright colors, and freeing feathers that make us long for occasions to wear them to.
