What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

When it comes to wedding dress shopping, we often recommend looking for a spectacular veil first and always look to Alison Miller’s label Monvieve. While Alison married her husband, Claudio Bazzichelli, on June 6, 1998 in Ravello, the creative director is in constant communication with brides today and knows how much their tastes have changed over the years. We’re again looking to her for inspiration, this time for a Dream Registry!

When asked to describe her personal aesthetic, Alison responded: “Think Milanese flea markets meet the Salone del Mobile—modern and sculptural with a heady dose of edge…It’s about eclectic pairings of old and new, like mixing specific Roman antiques, Bauhaus, or Art Deco with artisanal objects from today.” These days, she’s particularly inspired by what Benoist Drut is doing at Maison Gerard.

During the creation of her real wedding registry, Alison mentions it was all about quality and heritage distilled through her aesthetics. “KPM, Meissen, Theresienthal, Moser, and Rosenthal topped my list,” she says. “I adore industrial design, so to say that registering was a joyful act was an understatement! I find profound beauty in the perfect teapot or the perfectly weighted dinner knife.”

However, when Alison got married, the flexibility to personalize or mix-and-match place settings wasn’t there. “In general, I love that the Over The Moon Registry is about craft and beauty…and trading in exclusivity with many possibilities for customization,” she says. “It’s a gorgeous repository and a wonderful value proposition to find such lovely objects all in one place. You can truly create exquisite combinations. The linens are especially noteworthy.”

While Alison and her husband have similar styles, he seriously knows his way around the kitchen “He is Roman after all,” Alison quips. “He’ll always reach for the right knife before I can blink…Having said that, he knows better than to go near the KPM or Moser…I’ll set the table thank you.” Adding the olive wood soup ladle to her Dream Registry would definitely make her husband smile.

Of course, Alison couldn’t resist adding the Stefania veil to her Dream Registry too. “The museum-quality Chantilly and colorway make this bespoke veil an all-time favorite,” she says.

Alison leaves us with this tip to couples creating their registries for the first time: “Your wedding registry is a moment of irreverence and bliss, heartfelt beauty, and meaning. Curate you dream table (and home) with curiosities and unbridled optimism. And do take this to heart—the best things in the world will never go in the dishwasher. If it’s captured your imagination don’t overthink it. Dishwasher friendly is for another day.”
