While there wasn’t as much breathless excitement surrounding Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding as there was earlier this year when Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle, it’s safe to say there was still much anticipation regarding the “big reveal,” a.k.a. which designer the royal bride would pick for her wedding day. Early this morning, we caught a quick glimpse of Princess Eugenie and her father, Prince Andrew, en route to St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, where fans awaited. Once the young royal stepped out, the world saw the elegant and unexpected, off-the-shoulder Peter Pilotto wedding gown she had chosen for her wedding day.

The Princess worked with designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos for months on the gown, which features an unconventional neckline and a stunning low back that was added at the request of Princess Eugenie, who once suffered from scoliosis.

The dress includes several symbols that were woven into a garland of rope and later translated on to Eugenie’s dress. The gown featured a Thistle (as a nod to the bride’s family home in Balmoral), an Irish Shamrock, a tribute to her mother’s maternal family, the York Rose, and ivy, which represents the couple’s home.

As for her jewelry, the Princess is wearing the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, which she borrowed from her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The tiara, which was made by Boucheron, dates back to 1919 and features brilliant and rose cut diamonds pavé set in platinum with six emeralds on the side. She finished off her look with diamond and emerald earrings, gifted by her future husband, and satin peep-toe heels by Charlotte Olympia.
