Our Favorite Real Carolina Herrera Brides of All Time

By Shayna Seid

Yes, every bride is real, but we’re highlighting those brides who don’t live in the limelight. And yes, many of these women have big followings on Instagram and influence many a fashion decision—but they aren’t entertainers by trade. They’re editors, PR directors, stylists, and the like. In a word, they’re chic, and to that end, they wisely chose Carolina Herrera for their wedding days. From strapless to long-sleeved and lace to silk charmeuse, the silhouettes and fabrics may vary, but the timeless elegance remains, and the photos stand the test of time. Below are some of our favorite Carolina Herrera brides, scroll down to see every single one!

Hayley Bloomingdale

Moda Operandi’s communications director, Hayley Bloomingdale, married her husband, Alexander “Dada” Stileman, in a Carolina Herrera dress, designed by her good friend, Wes Gordon, in California. For dancing, she changed into our favorite Carolina Herrera dress of all time, the Hildie—a short, tiered look with pearl and blue ribbon accents.

Dawson Haynes

Easton Events Senior Producer Dawson Haynes tied the knot in Florida in a custom version of the Over The Moon exclusive Hyacinth dress. “Fun fact: When we saw this dress in the flagship store, it was mid-calf length and had purple ribbons!” Dawson exclaims. “I loved the dress so much, Julie Sabatino of The Stylish Bride suggested we lengthen it and swap out the ribbons.”

Emily Rennert

For her Miami nuptials, Emily Rennert and Simon Wein kicked off their wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner at one of their favorite spots in Miami’s South of Fifth neighborhood, Abbale Telavivian Kitchen. “I felt like a queen in this heart-embellished Carolina Herrera dress, selected by my friend and stylist, Sarah Slutsky,” Emily shares. “She perfectly paired the dress with these Manolo Blahnik pumps. I had my eye on this dress for months and was so lucky to be able to wear it to kick off the celebrations!”

Skylar Shapiro

After trying on at least 50 gowns, Skylar finally found the Carolina Herrera dress that she ultimately wore to her Connecticut wedding.“It had the most elegant floral appliqué detailing that completely emulated the peonies in my mom’s garden, so I knew it was perfect.”

Leslie Ramos

At her destination wedding in Venice, Leslie Ramos wore a Carolina Herrera midi dress and veil, which slightly shocked the mother of the bride. “Mrs. Herrera, like myself, was born in Venezuela,” she says. “I’ve always been a huge fan of the house and her clean, sophisticated style . . . I did have to do some research and look back to iconic brides like Audrey Hepburn and even Carolina Herrera herself, who got married in short dresses, to convince my mom that everything was going to be ok and that not wearing a monumental veil and long dress didn’t mean it wouldn’t be formal.”

Sarah Vallimarescu

Sarah Vallimarescu found her dress at Carolina Herrera in New York City, for her wedding in Sun Valley. “It perfectly fit my personal aesthetic,” she says. “I loved the corset top, which was modern, edgy, and unique, coupled with the beautiful tulle skirt.”

Danielle DiPaola

To walk down the aisle in Ojai, California, Danielle DiPaola wore a Carolina Herrera gown with a bow detail. “I loved that it was a little bit classic, but had the fun and whimsy of the giant bow in the back,” she says.

Carol Han

Carol Han found her dress from Carolina Herrera’s Bridal Fall 2018 collection, for her wedding in the Catskills. “It was a perfect shade of ivory, and there was a gorgeous line of buttons that went all the way down the back of the dress right to the very tip of the train,” she says.

Becky Katz

Becky didn’t have any specific ideas before her Carolina Herrera appointment, but walked away with a beautiful low-back gown for her wedding on Martha’s Vineyard.

Emily Wolowitz

For her Caribbean wedding, Emily Wolowitz, the Senior PR Manager at Hermès, had a hard time choosing between two Carolina Herrera gowns, but ultimately chose this lace look. “It reminded me of a vintage lace and the cut was timeless,” she says.

Karla Martinez

Vogue Latin American editor-in-chief Karla Martinez wore a Carolina Herrera dress, before it was released, at her wedding in Mexico.

Saiyo Aiba

Saiyo found her perfect Carolina Herrera dress at Mark Ingram in New York City, for her wedding at Wave Hill in The Bronx. “What I loved the most was the structure and minimalism of the dress which was a beautiful ode to my father and my Japanese side,” she says.
