What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

Actress, television host, writer, and producer Corinne Marie Foxx and television executive and producer Joseph Oliver Hooten were first introduced through a mutual friend, while they were both attending the University of Southern California. “It wasn’t until after college, when we reconnected via Instagram,” Corinne shares. “I was bold and liked an old picture of Joe on Instagram. He instantly messaged me and asked me out on a date. Our first date was actually on a sailboat, where Joe was living at the time.”

After five years together, Joe planned an elaborate destination proposal in Ireland, but Corinne unexpectedly had to move from Los Angeles to Chicago for a few months, so he moved his plans to the Windy City. “Our dream has been to see the cherry blossoms in Japan, so Joe found a park that had cherry blossoms in bloom and picked a spot under a cherry blossom to propose,” Corinne remembers. Her aunts were hiding in a nearby bush, recording every second. And Joe had her parents—including her father, actor and singer Jamie Foxx—waiting at a surprise engagement party right after.

Once engaged, Corinne and Joe began planning for their California wedding, which will take place this autumn. And when it came to wedding dress shopping, the bride knew she wanted something non-traditional. “Neither one of my parents have been married before, so I don’t feel pressure to adhere to anything traditional about weddings or marriages,” she explains. “I ended up finding my dress in a store. Surprisingly, it was nothing like anything on my Pinterest board. I knew it was ‘the one’ because I couldn’t stop thinking about it once I left.”

While we wait to see what Corinne will wear down the aisle and her and Joe’s beautiful nuptials, in the meantime, she’s sharing her Dream Over The Moon Registry with us:

Corinne shares that her personal aesthetic leans toward organic, California-inspired design. “However, I am trying to avoid getting sucked into the ‘sad beige’ or ‘sad neutrals’ trend,” she laughs. “I like to find a couple of pieces, like a throw pillow or piece of art work, that really pops. I think my design style flows into my personal style as well. My favorite outfits are simple jeans, t-shirts and sandals. Being from California, comfort and casual are in my DNA.”

Joe, however, is from a beach town in Florida, so Corinne states that his style leans even more coastal than hers. “Even though I’m from Los Angeles, I was raised in the San Fernando Valley, so I don’t have the same ties to the beach like Joseph,” she explains. “Therefore, we’ve had some differences when Joseph wants to hang things like surfboards on the walls. But overall, we’re both from very relaxed places, and I think our styles mesh very well.”

To add to their Dream Registry for their home, Corinne really focused on items that she’d never think to buy for herself. “I do think a nice set of china dinnerware would be something that I’d keep for a long time. I was also excited to have some items were personalized with my and my fiancé’s last names on them, like the monogrammed ice bucket,” the bride-to-be shares. “Speaking of, my last name is Foxx and my fiancé’s last name is Hooten. We often use foxes and owls to represent our families. Therefore, any item with a fox or an owl on it will usually go on my registry!”

Khan’s Park Pillow checked that box for Corinne. “I thought this was such a unique pillow, perfect for a guest bedroom,” she says. “And of course, I noticed it had a fox on it so it’s a little nod to my last name.”

Other must-have items for Corinne focused around cooking and dining. The Insieme Knife Set really impressed the bride for lots of reasons. “Kitchen knife blocks can be bulky and an eye sore. I felt like this was visually stunning,” she shares. “I’m also a big reader, and it reminds me of a bookshelf.”

As Corinne’s wedding color is green, she also gravitated toward the Gardens Dinner Plates. “I’ve never owned anything like these plates before,” she admits. “I love how whimsical and old-world they feel.”

Before her trip down the aisle soon, Corinne leaves us with advice for couples making their Over The Moon Registries now: “Be intentional with everything on your list. I think it’s easy to add items to your registry mindlessly or just to match your guest count. I would say to really think about what you’d’ want to have in your home five, ten, fifteen from now. Those pieces are worth it.”
