Another royal wedding is on the horizon! Princess Eugenie, a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser and Wirth in London and the eighth in line to the British throne, is set to marry her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, the former manager of the Mayfair hotspot Mahiki and now the U.K. ambassador of Casamigos Tequila (yes, that’s the one co-founded by George Clooney and Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber). Buckingham Palace made the announcement early this morning, stating that Queen’s granddaughter became engaged to Brooksbank in Nicaragua earlier this month. Brooksbank proposed with a beautiful padparadscha sapphire stunner surrounded entirely by diamonds.
The two began dating in 2011 after they met while skiing in the Swiss ski resort Verbier. Princess Eugenie’s parents, the Duke of York and his former wife Sarah Duchess of York (a.k.a. “Fergie”), were “delighted” to announce the engagement, according to the Telegraph, while Brooksbank’s parents were (fittingly) said to be “completely over the moon.”
After the announcement went out from the palace, the Duchess of York tweeted and Instagrammed a series of pictures of the couple overlaid with the words: “A total embrace of goodness and joy . . . Eugenie is one of the finest people I know and so together it will be pure harmony.”
The wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in the fall. This is the same church where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to marry on May 19th. No doubt Princess Eugenie will be there taking notes!
