What makes the perfect registry? Our Dream Registry series answers just that, providing an endless source of inspiration for those putting together their own Over The Moon registries. We enlisted the help of some of our most stylish and in-the-know friends—whether they’re single, engaged, or already married. (Because we’re taking a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s playbook and saying one should be able to register for Manolos no matter what their relationship status!) Peek inside the registries of tastemakers, from editors and stylists to wedding planners and beyond. Your dream registry is just a click away.

Actress Virginia Gardner is headed down the aisle soon to marry Jed Elliott, bass player for The Struts, in California. The pair first connected via a dating app in February 2020. And after a magical year together, he proposed at the Rosewood Miramar Beach. As Virginia and Jed made their real wedding registry on Over The Moon, who better to share their Dream Registry with us?

The Los Angeles–based pair identify their design aesthetic as “traditional with a whimsical twist,” Virginia shares. “I like things that feel like they can be timeless but [have] a touch of whimsy and fun. I love adding in pops of color and patterns, and I have a serious weakness for fun glassware.”

The couple are still renting, so they’re focused on picking high-quality, versatile pieces that will move with them into a new home. “I like my spaces to feel relaxing, open and with lots of light,” the bride-to-be shares. “Jed and I travel so much for work that our home truly is our sanctuary. We love collecting pieces that feel special to us and evoke happiness when we view them. I’ll splurge on the focal point of most rooms then fill in the rest of the space to complement that.”

Thankfully, the actress and musician have really similar decor styles. “When we first met and I found out he is in a rock band, I was a bit worried we may not see eye to eye on aesthetics, but we really do,” Virginia assures us. “If we ever do disagree, he usually lets me have final say—I love that about him. He trusts my design taste.”

For their Dream Registry, Virginia gravitated toward the Le Creuset stainless steel pan set and the dutch oven. “I am obsessed with cooking and have always had pans that have left a lot to be desired,” she explains. “Having a beautiful high-quality pan set that will last me for years and will make cooking much easier will be a game changer. To own a Le Creuset set has been a dream of mine forever!”

Looking ahead to their first Thanksgiving as newlyweds, Virginia and Jed added the GreenPan roaster to their registry. “It is so chic looking and is also something I’ve never had,” the bride says. “Every Thanksgiving, I end up buying some disposable tin to roast my turkey in. I am so excited to cook our turkey this year in this beautiful roaster.”

And the wine lovers needed new glasses for their next chapter in life. “We are big wine lovers and collectors, so nothing will be more special to us than opening an anniversary bottle of wine with some special glasses we received for our wedding,” Virginia says. They’re also wanting to start experimenting with cocktail-making, so the Caskata coupe cocktail glasses were a must-add too. “We are planning on taking some classes after the wedding, the glasses are so cute; they are inspiring me to get excited about some summer cocktails.”

Virginia leaves us with her advice for other couples making their wedding registries for the first time: “I think it’s really important to think about special items that you and your fiancé will have for a long time. It’s also a great time to ask for a few things you’ve always wanted but wouldn’t buy for yourself. I also love the honeymoon donation idea. What’s more special than your loved ones contributing to your trip of a lifetime?”
